My husband, myself, and our 4 children (12, 10, 7 and 5) just returned from a 5 night stay at Clearview Winery. We stayed in the homestead, which was MORE than ample for our family. The house was very clean, nice sheets and towels, and a well equipped kitchen. The staff provided us with wine, milk, tea, coffee, etc. Tim,... More

Lovely to have such a chilled out place so close to home! The food is a little pricey for the delivery over lunch. Friday nights with pizza and a bottle are great and an excellent way to mix it up with the locals. Some excellent wines with the Reserve Chard one of NZs best

We went to Clearview Winery on Saturday in sun shine for platter and bottle of wine Chardonnay. It was so lovely and relaxing the patter filled both of us up had at least 10 different taste's and because I am Gluten Free they put on rice crackers for me. The service was out standing and Tim came along and chatted... More

We visited with a group of 22, and had great lunch and tour by the owner, Tim. We ordered first and then walked to the vineyards and saw some of the storage area and processing machinery. Lunch was lovely, and we liked all of the wines we tried, but particularly the Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurtztraminer, of which we bought more... More

It was okay but there's no real ambiance and the wines were average (to our taste anyway). The lady at the tasting area was very off-hand and not particularly welcoming - we felt that we were interrupting her important day. We haven't been back - there are other wineries that are far more welcoming and less crowded with better wines

Sadly nothing seems to have changed since April review. Staff at desk all kept their heads down when we arrived, barely bothered with any greeting when taking our order and completely ignored us for the rest of the meal. Yes we were on a grab one platter deal but we did order other stuff off the menu for the children... More

Had a lovely platter and bottle of wine for a lunch "date" with my husband. The atmosphere, garden and staff were fantastic. The food came in good time and the platter was large and very tasty. The wine was a very nice drop of savvy blanc. Will be back for many a visit over the summer and I am sure... More

This is another restaurant that reminded me of Italy. The seating is lots of fun - you are surrounded by treetops and vineyards and tree trunks and the restaurant itself is wide open to the outdoors. The food selection is very limited and what you would expect from a restaurant that doesn't go out of its way to get more... More

Such a lovely description thanks as we were indeed inspired by an early trip through Italy and Greece and the property was first settled by a Spaniard - AJ Vidal & family in 1915. From the reference to pizza i see that you were here on one of our Friday live music nights. Over lunch we have a full a-la-carte... More
