Good wine tasting and lunch

Stopped here for lunch after our Gannet trip, and really enjoyed it. The wine tasting beforehand was extensive and interesting. The food and service were both good, and the surroundings relaxing and pleasant. Certainly worth the stop.

Although I am writing this two months later, I remember my meal very well. My husband and I shared an appetizer a main and a dessert plus two glasses of wine from the vineyard. The pork belly, grouper and lemon tart were memorable.

A day out and we decided to have lunch here. Lets get the only issue out of the way, parking, lack of spaces and very hard to move about, need to reverse. The staff and food was great, we only wanted small meals as we were going out for dinner. The waitress was very helpful, and the food was so... More

We ate great food without having to be dress nicely. Raining but still was able to sit in a covered dining area.

I have said before that the Kiwi's do an amazing job with nice wine tastings interspersed with very nice food. Clearview has a slight advantage for families with younger children as it is slightly "jungly" in layout with some fun wood designs etc. A very interesting wine tasting, we are not experts but loved the house Sauvignon Gris and bought... A group of seven of us visited Clearview on Easter Monday. We chose Clearview because of the relaxed atmosphere and special ambience that this establishment has. As it has been some time since our last visit we were all eager to see what was on the menu. The entree and mains choice was varied but we all felt the prices... More

Like other reviewers, we stopped for a family lunch on the way back from the Cape Kidnappers Tour, although had booked the previous day. Despite being very busy on a Saturday, all of the staff were charming including the English gentleman offering tastings. We chose an excellent Reserve Sauvignon Blanc to accompany our food which was enjoyed outside in the... More

We are primarily an a-la-carte Lunch & Brunch, Winery Restaurant with an innovative menu featuring fresh local produce - open for Food, Coffee & Wine Sales from 10 to 5pm. On most Friday nights over summer, we have a relaxed “Friendly Friday” pizza & beer night featuring local musicians. This is very popular with our locals, friends and families and... More

We were expecting a 'winery restaurant' showcasing local produce, yet the menu is basically pizza and you lvs our sitting in the indoor / outdoor tasting shed surrounded by very loud groups and children running amok, not to mention the rather loud 'pub band' that was so loud that we couldn't even talk among ourselves. We decided to have an... More

Clearview is a great place to spend an afternoon by the sea, drinking wine and enjoying the best of Hawke's Bays's fresh local ingredients.

We dropped in at Clearview on our way back from the Gannet Overland Safari. The platter was really excellent with a selection of meats, cheese, olives and artichokes. We loved their wines and bought an excellent bottle of Cabernet Franc (would like to buy this wine in Canada!!) and a Savvy.
