Over cooked beef

Four of us visited for lunch. There is no lunch menu after 1pm so we all ordered entrees. Three were OK but the beef belly on red cabbage was thinly sliced and well over cooked. It was therefore too dry to have any flavour. The waitress responded to my concerns that "normally" it was tender but... read more

We were taken straight to a table by a welcoming, efficient and friendly waitress. We enjoyed a glass of their Cape Kidnappers Pinot noir while our meal was prepared. We both opted for their take on eggs benedict - served on a delicious crispy potato rosti. A simple but beautifully cooked brunch. Brunch is served until 1pm but there is... More

We arrived here within the allotted Lunchtime Session with plenty of tables available to be told they "had had enough for one day". This was very disappointing haven driven out from Napier. So Cannot comment on the food or the wine but the service is obviously atrocious! There were over three hours to go on the lunchtime session! However we... More

We expected a long slow lunch at a winery but they were supposed to be in a hurry as they were catering for a wedding (which they had warned us about) - so really they could have served us a bit quicker. If we hadn't had nice bread etc to start with we would have still been hungry with only... More

A great tour by the owner Tim, which was informative funny and a great introduction for us into New Zealand wine. We ate in the restaurant, which is set beautifully in the grounds, the food was excellent, we had the pork and the salt and pepper said which was cooked perfectly. A must for a great morning out.

Food was a bit disappointing. Pork Belly with un-rendered fat and not very crispy top - the oil in the deep fryer definitely needs changing - went to the bathrooms (near the kitchen) and the place smelled like a fish and chip shop. Steak - OK - just OK. But fellow diner said the soufflé was great. Salad was the... More

Booked a table for two and arrived about five minutes early. Waited about five minutes in the queue to be acknowledged while the matre de ran off to do other things. Finally we were offered a wine tasting but declined as we have been there often. Was shown to our table......no cutlery or water offered. Sat and waited....waited....waited and poised... More
