Great little pub. Sister pub over the road when this one gets busy. Dogs welcome Kids lived the Lasagne and a great ginger pudding. EPA beer was fantastic. Good place to end the railway walk or Blencathra mount.

Six of us booked dinner at the Horse and Farrier which was packed out at 6.30 .. Always a good sign that the food would be good and we were not disappointed. Service was quick and staff polite and accommodating. The menu was varied with unusual options. I had pork belly which was delicious but too much to finish ..though... More

We popped into the Horse & Farrier after walking the Railway Walk from Keswick. As we were soaking wet from the impromptu hail storm that greeted our entrance to the village the brought our drinks to our table after they insisted we take seats in front of the fire to dry off! A lovely country pub with a wide menu... More

Another year in the Lakes and another great meal at the Horse and Farrier. We are never disappointed with this place. The steak and ale pie was up to its usual standard and the cheerfulness of the staff adds to the experience. The beer was as good as ever. We’ll be back next year!

Lovely pub which we have been to many times on our visits to the Lakes. Always made to feel very welcome. We usually have food but this time had Sunday lunch for the first time. I had rib of beef and my wife had turkey. Both were excellent. Fresh, plentiful, local food washed down by a cracking real ales. Highly... More

Booked a table for four of us for Sunday Lunch, lovely country pub with real fire very lovely atmosphere. We ate in the Bar area as we had our Westie Dog with us. We received good service and our meals were excellent. We will visit again the next time we are back in the lakes.

We searched for somewhere to eat after deciding not to eat at the hotel we were staying at in the region and we were not disappointed. The place was full on a Saturday night which is always a good sign. Staff were attentive, friendly, helpful and efficient. All of the food was good quality, good portion sizes and did not... More

We chose this Inn as was on route to our final destination. We did a search on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. It was well worth it, the meal was excellent and the service was great. If we are in the area again we will definitely visit or even stay. I wholeheartedly would recommend this Inn... More

Visited for the first time with a family group of 18 for a birthday meal. Food was beautifully prepared with plentiful helpings. Unfortunately we were crammed on to 3 tables not the area as shown when the meal was booked and a service mix up had one person waiting for a course that had not been actioned. Overall a pleasant...
