On our return from an 8 mile walk across Morecambe Bay with the Queen's Official Guide, this was a great place to stop on our way home. We were very warmly welcomed by very happy and pleasant staff. Keith is an absolute star and looks after his customers very well. My husband ordered a salad but was told that salads... More

Ate at the Horse and Farrier on a Saturday night, in a group of around nine people. Luckily, we had booked, as there didn't seem to be any free tables. The staff were very friendly and attentive; the food and drink were excellent! Really wonderful pub/restaurant, and a great meal all round. Would thoroughly recommend!

We arrived at 12pm on Sunday and good job we got there early as it soon began to fill up. We ordered the 2 courses for £15.90 and the food was just lovely. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back.

Had a delicious evening meal in a charming, friendly atmosphere. Varied menu with interesting "specials" . . . wonderful lamb slow cooked, and tasty home made puds. Staff were so helpful, making it an extra special evening. Thankyou! Will be back when get the opportunity. :)

Stayed very recently for six nights at this excellent pub/restaurant. Very friendly staff, varied and interesting evening menu which we sampled extensively during our stay. Food excellent and plentiful and of a very high standard, evidenced by a regularly full restaurant. Breakfast was a joy, large selection and nothing too much trouble. Having been home for a few days, have... More

We had an excellent meal here whilst camping nearby. The staff were a bit rushed when we arrived and it took a good 5 minutes for them to catch our eye, despite standing at the bar. The place was packed full though! After that it was all good: nice place, helpful and polite staff, really nice food, very big portions... More

We visited this place twice during a recent stay just down the road at Troutbeck Head. It's certainly one up on your average Cumbrian pub The meals were excellent - every course both times. Must particularly mention the scallops starter and belly pork main course, also a smoked haddock dish to die for. A good wine list at reasonable prices... More
