What a wonderful find

We basically were lost and looking for another place when we stumbled into Da Filippo. A party of 8 loud Americans who were very skeptical about eating at a train station trattoria. We are a small party of 10, so its not always easy to find a table or agree on where to eat, but we did all agree that a train station restaurant might be an experience. It was! Visited the town on a day-trip by train from Cefalu. The journey was beautiful and whilst the town was quiet, peaceful and held some great views over the coast and mountains the highlight was the station restaurant. Not quiet romantic (and no Pizza) but very kind staff and plain but well food. TV was on as in many restaurants.

We had a 12-day sailing/4-wheel/2-wheel trip around Sicily and Aeolian Islands in May 2013. In April I went to Sicily to visit family.. we went to Da Filippo restaurant for dinner. Da Filippo is a great place to eat and the chef was amazing.. Mariella (the owner is as friendly as they come it was a wonderful dinner and not to expensive. Mariella ti mandero' le cartoline di philadelphia... ciao baci a tutti Angela
