Very sensitive to dietary needs, exceptionally friendly and obliging

We came here with small children for Sunday lunch. The pub was lovely and warm and very welcoming. The staff were helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and the burger is homemade from a family recipe. Great choice for children too

We found this pub by chance going to a hotel close by. Its a very cosy traditional pub, We were made to feel like locals from the moment we walked in the pub until the moment we left. It is very clean, with a good selection of beers and wines at a sensible price. We ate at lunch time and... More

Called in, without prior reservation, for an evening meal around 8pm. Pleasant welcome from bar staff. Were able to choose any table we wanted - the place was empty apart from two gentlemen at the bar. Large selection of delicious sounding food - included the Christmas burger! Very pleased with our choice of food. Excellent evening thanks to great staff,... More

Start at the beginning. A pleasant welcome into this quaint little country pub. Nice friendly people. As locals came and went they were all very pleasant and wished us a happy Christmas. Bread rolls were brought to our table firstly, with a pot of margarine, sorry but for £50 per head I certainly expected butter !! Starter - i tasted... More

Called in for lunch and was surprised the place was empty. A very pleasant young lady took our order for drinks and fish pie from the specials board. Despite the bar being empty it took some ten minutes for our drinks to arrive however, the wine was good and at the right temperature. The fish pie was very well stocked... More

What an amazing wee place this is. I popped in last weekend without a reservation, after the kitchen had closed but they still managed to knock up some bar snacks. I did go back for dinner the following night and it was lovely. This is everything that a good English pub should be and it's even thatched! Great staff, great... More
