Excellent food and friendly staff.

Stopped by for lunch with friends. Good selection of standard pub fare and good preparation. Lots of nice specials and friendly innkeeper to boot. Would definitely return.

We decided to visit the pub rather than stay in our local hotel. The serving of the food was a bit disorganised and they had a limited menu due to closing but the staff were friendly and the food was amazing! Apparently it's being taken over on Saturday and refurbished so will be closed for a few weeks. Hope they... More

Staying at a nearby hotel, myself and my partner took a stroll to this pub. It was very cosy and we had a friendly reception from bar staff! We had rung earlier on to discuss my partners wheat allergy and when we got there the staff were very accommodating. He had quite a few different choices and we both thoroughly... More

We have friends that live near this quintessential little English pub and make a point of dropping by every time we are in the area. We are so glad to see that it is still going strong. As always the greeting we received was like we were locals, I will never tire of Beth's welcoming smile and chirpy attitude. 6... More

Good old fashioned pub, and the bar staff friendly and helpful. The food was a let-down. Trying to make a healthy choice I ordered the warm cod loin on a bed of prawns and salad. Sounds lovely. It turned out to be half a dozen small flakes of fish on a bed of half a dozen prawns and some salad... More

Stopped for lunch. Very quiet and old quaint pub, but the food was a bit disappointing. Puddings certainly bought in and were over priced. Main course, reasonable selection. This pub with some creative energy could be great. Bar man full of some type of humour :-)

Me and my fiancé went for dinner tonight, I misread a sign on the door and thought no food on tonight the lady ran out when she see us leave and said food is on! So glad she did as it was a great experience. Very friendly staff, good comprehensive menu. I had the mixed grill which was very well... More

Great food, lovely atmosphere....would definitely visit again!! In walking distance from Horwood House which is where I was staying although had to be careful as part of the walk is down country lanes with no pavements. Took about 20-30 mins. The chips here were gorgeous - proper hand cut job!! All in all a good night !!

Visited on a Thursday as walk in trade. Few tables in restaurant but we chose to sit in the bar and eat. very friendly waitress and locals made us feel at home. Food was simple but very good, honest pub grub but not gastro pub, and all the better for it. Unusually for me had pudding, Key Lime pie which... More
