I did a search on trip advisor to find somewhere where we could get a decent roast, this place came up, the reviews were mostly good so we thought we should give it a go. We phoned and booked a table, which we needn't have bothered as when we arrived at 2pm on a Sunday lunch time we were the... More

Surprisingly cozy anf bice bar with good homecooked food. The staff was very pleasant and nice, and we got good information. Prices were reasonable, food good.

Just moved to the area, and went in there this evening for what we thought would be a 'usual' pub meal. What we actually got was cuisine normally expected of a very posh (and expensive) restaurant. Everything was freshly cooked and arrived hot, and we didn't have to wait too long. Waitress was helpful and eager to please. A few... More

We visited here based on the reviews. We both ordered the burgets which were average but quite expensive for what they were. Lovely old pub just a shame about the decoration which doesn't really work. Black curtains over the fireplace etc. Not tempting enough to return.

On Saturday we decided to try out this pub for lunch after looking for a pub that allows dogs. As we don`t live far away and checking the website for details we got there at 1.45pm and the place was busy with people enjoying a drink or meal and chatting to us about our dogs. When we got to the... More

My partner and me went here for our anniversary. I had the lasagne which was amazing. The owner was very friendly. Ordered prawns for start but couldn't eat because of the eyes and legs. Felt so guilty because I'm not used to having these. ( Only the usual prawn cocktail) Owner was very understanding and we had a right laugh... More

Last came here about 7 or 8 years ago, in fact ate on a good few occasions. Change of owners meant that we didn't come back again until this week. Happened to be passing and thought we would call in for a lunchtime drink. The place hasn't changed much, still a traditional and very old building, quite small. Warm welcome,... More

Popped in for lunch - had a very very warm welcome - allowed our little dog to sit with us which is a real plus point - had a couple of fantastic home made burgers - really nice old pub with a restaurant. - just needs a bit doing on the outside so don't be put off by appearance -... More

As mentioned in the title came here after reading other TripAdvisor reviews and will be coming back. Don't let first impressions put you off. We sat in the car park for a minute thinking yes/no as from the outside it's a bit uninspiring, but don't let this stop you. Inside is a lovely small traditional pub, full of locals and... More
