the restaurant is quite expensive at the cheapest rate of 85 CHF for three courses. the waiter made mistakes at every turn, from forgetting bread, then butter, then serve your red wine when you have finished your main course. the food is acceptable and would be fine if the service matched the restaurant's ambition. personally the blue hall bar offered... The food was presented in a very attractive way and tasted fabulous. It was nice not to be given just vegetables and cheese or an egg as is so often the case

This was a tough restaurant to rate, since I love the concept and think the chef is exceptionally talented. I didn't have a very well executed meal though. At the prices Red Restaurant charges, I think it's appropriate to expect near-flawless execution. I didn't get execution that lived up to the prices. I am hoping my experience was an anomaly... I have eaten in this restaurant their six portion menu and I must say that it is pure excellence. If you are in Vals you should go and try this extraordinary experience . It is a very nice restaurant where they offer a creative cuisine made of excellent materials that the chef selects from the area. The desserts are excellent... More

Loved it first time we've been there few years ago. This time around found the food average and way too salty, and service (too) friendly, bordering on pushy (trying to get you to order alcohol, which is very expensive and not included in the menu, as you may expect)

We had three meals at this restaurant during our stay over Christmas, and we have booked to come back next year. That's the summary review. In detail... Dress/ambience: anything you feel like, from grunge/hippy to smart/designer. One of the few European places I've eaten where dress feels like it really doesn't matter. But still quite formal overall for dinner. Staff:... More

It's a very nice restaurant. Sometimes I thought they sacrificed too much of the taste to make the dishes appear "healthy". As in every Swiss restaurant prices are rather high. The breakfast buffet though is excellent, full of local specialities and with a great assortment of cheeses and cured meats.
