Weekend delight

We had a late morning tea/brunch on a cool Sunday morning. Inside, the fires were going, creating a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. The cheese rolls were delicious and the peppermint slice FANTASTIC !! Fast and efficient service. Outdoor seating available for the sunnier days (or those... read more

Have been to this restaurant twice (it had closed for awhile so we went back when it reopened). The first time (about 3 years ago?) was one of the best lunches we've had, was a beautiful setting outside in the sunshine with a glass of wine, looking over to the bridge. We went back about a month ago for lunch... More

I popped into Shaky Bridge for Saturday morning coffee with friends. The setting is fantastic nestled under the big clock on the hill overlooking the river. The service was surly but efficient and the coffee good. However the food we ordered with the coffee was ordinary. The large portion sizes didn't make up for the rather bland flavours and my... En route to Dunedin we found Shaky Bridge and the adjacent cafe, an ideal lunch stop. A small menu offering excellent home cooked food, friendly staff and interesting location on the edge of the vineyard and close to the famous bridge. The food is superb but portions as always on the large size, fresh bread and dips, homemade soup all... More

Nice little cafe to while away an hour having a coffee and a chat in the sun. Food looked nice in the cabinet and obviously a popular place for locals, cyclists and families.
