French provincial cuisine - well hidden in Flaxton

We've been to our favourite French restaurant many times and, as so many have already reported, were delighted to see Thierry and the team back in town and back in charge. The name has now changed (subtly) to Le Coq Bressan but the food is back to being as good as it ever was. The 3 course set... read more

I have followed Thierry and Cindy for many many years. Before they left RB I felt the quality had gone down; more mass produced. However after some time leasing the space out they are back and with a vengeance. The food is better than ever and quite authentic. Prices have remained restrained. The flamekuche is a must, escargots as good... More

Have been here many times and it's like being back in France. Fortunately we live just around the corner, so if we feel like a trip to France we jump in our car instead of long trip on a plane. The last time we went we had the French Breakfast, consisting of the traditional bowl of coffee with a croissant... More

Thierry has returned to Le Relais Bressan and the food is back to its fabulous French best. Went there last week with 3 friends and all were impressed with the gorgeous food. Thierry's beef burgundy is the best I've ever had and his crème brulee is to die for! It's so good to see this wonderful restaurant back to its... More

Wow!! Great location, great food and the owner was very friendly and generous with his time. When you combine the great food with the very reasonable pricing; it was well worth the drive from Brisbane!!!

We stopped for lunch and the food was really good. The cream of sweet potato soup was some of the best I've tasted. The fruit tarts were delicious. It was an interesting idea with what looked like a model English village setting, within a French Restaurant!

Just had the Sunday lunch set menu and I have to say, everything was beautiful. The surroundings are lovely and the staff excellent. We had the set menu plus a bottle of wine and a beer and for four people we paid $180. There was more than enough to eat and everything was cooked to perfection. So nice to have... More

we had a french breakfast which was so nice we came back for dinner. This is a truely french experience. The cafe and restuarant are owned by a french family, their son also has a artisan chocolate shop there called cocorico. The setting is on top of a hill at Flaxton with beautiful views.

When one pays $31 for a main, you at least expect fresh vegetables. The bowl when presented was colourless and beans limp and dark...possibly reheated. Not pleasant at all. Won't hurry back. Decor tired in the extreme.

Le Relais Bressan sits atop the Blackall Range, at Flaxton , with amazing views over the Sunshine Coast. The restaurant compliments the location in design and decor.Mine Host, Thierry, has left no stone unturned in producing a truly French atmosphere. Our party chose the Fish Roulade, a special of the day, a unique dish that melted in the mouth and... More
