my wife and I went to Petite Mort very recently. We were looking forward to seeing what this restaurant, with its mixed reviews, was like. Generally, service and atmosphere were fine and the staff knowledgeable about the dishes on offer. The wine list was extensive and covered many good French wines not ordinarily available here. We chose a pinot noir... More

I have had lunch a couple of times there this year plus a dinner with a group of stock market investors and cannot fault the place. It will be even better in the summer as there is an outdoor dining area in the front garden. Our host on each occasion was Ash Wilcox who always seemed to have time to... More

Even for Perth Petite Mort is reasonably expensive, but in my view it's not worth it. We had the weekend degustation menu. sadly none of the courses had any "wow' factor. a couple were quite nice, but the majority were bland, even tasteless. I know service is not great in Perth, but I expected better. The waitress was sullen, the... More

Wow! Perth is really picking up in the restaurant stakes and Petite Mort is a pearler! The service was personal, professional and passionate...they don't rush you so you can just sit back and enjoy the experience of this cosy eatery. Tones of chocolate, charcoal and crisp white linen adds to the ambiance beautifully as does the unique artwork scattered. The... More

Yes we all know about nouveau food - the flavours here were very good but this restaurant should perhaps realise that when customers leave hungry after having paid hundreds of dollars for tiny serves and overpriced wine, they may not be back.

The food is very nice, and there is a good selection. the wine choices is also very good- better by the bottle than by the glass. the service is variable. Sometimes the waitress seems uninterested.

Some Australians don't understand quality and prefer quantity when it comes to the menu. We found the taste sensations very appealing, with big plates holding miniscule portions that were mostly very good. The duck was a contrast - it was rare and one of the two small portions was chewy while the other wasn't. Wine list was very good but... More

As has been well documented this is a restaurant located on the site of an old Perth stalwart. The restaurant is situated in on older style house and has been pleasantly renovated. The staff who attended us were university students, but were well educated into the nature and presentation of the food. They were very pleasant and attentive. The menu... More

I went for a special occasion and didn't pay but the quality and detail was such that I suspect it cost a bit. I lost count of the dishes we had in a degustation. I've been to other degustation when there were peculiar ingredients just for the sake of it so it seemed. Petite Mort also had some unusual ingredients... More
