Good but not great

Went back to Alasya for the second time in 20 years (not exactly regulars) and apart from the size of the place, not much has changed in that time. The food is tasty and reasonably priced and the service is pleasant enough, which is just as well because the decor (timber panelling and worn out... read more

Basic home style Turkish food at a reasonable price served in a grossly out dated decor. Waiter service is poor but the simple tasty food more than makes up for its downsides. I have been eating there since the mid 1970s and nothing has changed except the prices. It was cheap then as still is today.

The size of the donner kebabs never disappoints. They're BIG. All of the meat dishes are delicious. I just feel that in recent years, the prices have gone up too much. The warm mushroom dip goes great with the freshly baked Turkish bread.

We have been going there for 20 years and it has the best dips (pumpkin, avocado and spinach dips are very good and fresh), bread (fresh, hot and generous)and pides that you will eat. I have eaten some pretty ordinary Turkish food overseas and this is a lot better. The décor is pretty dated, but you do not eat the décor.... More

We got food from here twice during our time in Melbourne and it was excellent, although interestingly the second time they tried to charge us more than the prices they have on their online menu. We stood our ground and got the correct price. Not the type of place I'd choose to eat in though. Get a take-out and do... More

The interior atmosphere makes you feel you bad, it needs to be renovated. Service attitude of waiter is poor . Service speed fast. Food price is reasonable and tasty . I did not like chicken döner. Bread is 1.5 dolar per person, it is eat as much as you can. It is a good deal . I will not come... More

Get your middle eastern food fix here. This one has been operating for a very long time. Lots of competition in this street but we think this one is best value. We get here at least two or three times a year. Great range of bread/dips, pides and meat dishes. It is never going to win a decor award but... More

This Turkish restaurant has been around for a long time. I stopped going there two years ago when the waitress tried to charge stuff we didn't order. The waitress placed a basket of bread on our table when we sat down. As we hadn't ordered it I thought it was free. I queried the charge when I saw it on... More

Excellent value with laughable service. Recommend the Pankar dip and pide.
