I went to the Blue Bridge on sunday to celebrate my Mum's birthday - what a lovely experience! the service was really genuinely welcoming and each one of the staff was very professionally but friendly - the standard of service was high and the menu and food matched that level..... I rarely recommend and so felt the standard was worthy... More

I am openly writing this review having read some of the less than favourable reviews (which are in the minority one might add!) My partner and I ate in this lovely restaurant in November. We enjoyed a lovely welcoming from the proprietor, and a very nice meal. Great wine list and some proper beers on tap! I don`t feel the... More

This restaurant is excellent! Really good food! Great service! Nice atmosphere! This restaurant came recommended and didn't disappoint. The food was really good, and we really enjoyed the experience! However, one thing that puzzled me. A really good restaurant, but please explain to me why all the women that go to the restaurant dress up, yet many of their partners... More

Great place to go. May be pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Even my picky partner thoroughly enjoyed his meal

We have been to the Blue Bridge in Writtle before and always enjoyed it. Our table was ready well before our booked time and we were positioned nicely in a place that was quiet enough for us to have a good chat with the friends that we were meeting there. The food was briliant, the service was fine and I... More

I love the food, the portion sizes are correct, not too large but still enough. Great menu and wine list, being a saturday everything is at a premium but as we don't go often it is worth it. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and it went without a hitch. Only thing that let it down for me was was... More

Dear Madam, Firstly thank you for your kind words and compliments towards the food and service. I would like to clarify the point you made regarding booking the table as it was myself who initially dealt with the gentleman on the phone. Unfortunately I had no tables for two people at 8.00pm on the days he wanted to book, I... More

Called in to have a mid week lunch and were warmly greeted. Had their fish and chip lunch which was excellent apart from a little too much salt sprinkled over food. A very popular restaurant and worth a second visit. A suggestion to the restaurant change shape of knives used they were difficult to handle .

Both my husband and I went to the Blue Bridge on Wednesday, as usual the staff were welcoming, especially Lilly and Sian, the atmosphere was really nice, and the food was very good, we had the crispy poached egg and asparagus, we both had prawns and fish for main and they was excellent. This is such a nice resturant, with... More
