Lovely food

Went to this restaurant on Saturday and had an excellent meal the steak was beautiful and cooked to perfection the service was also very good. It was my grandads 80th on Sunday and we chose to take him out for lunch to the bridge street lounge and grill. We asked prior booking whether they could do anything special for his birthday which they suggested a birthday dessert plate. We all had roast beef and lamb for our mains and was one of the best roast... More

I travelled along way to celebrate a family birthday and chose Bridge Street as our choice. BIg mistake! We booked this restaurant weeks before the actual date for a 7pm meal for 7 people so we had plenty of time to enjoy the evening. On the day of our meal we were phoned to say that they had booked the... More

Dear Madam, I'm glad that you and your party enjoyed the food that is pleasing to hear. We are not in the habit of rushing our customers and im sorry if you think that was the case. We do get very busy and it is common practice with most restaurants to have another sitting. However we do want to make... More

I booked my 40th birthday celebrations here and had the use of the private dining area for my party of 18. Setting stylish, Staff very good, food, cocktails and wine lovely. You pay a little more but this was a special occasion and it helped deliver a great night. Thanks to the Bridge street team.

I was finally able to have lunch at the grill and was initially impressed by the set and the brunch menu. There was a lot of choice on the set menu and I think the food was very reasonably priced. The food was very nice but would recommend not bringing scolding hot plates out for small children when the actual... More

Dear Sir/Madam, I am very pleased that you enjoyed the food it really is good to hear. Our set Lunch menu comes with a free glass of wine or soft drink. It's 2 courses for £15.00 with the drink I believe this offers excellent value. On the Brunch Saturdays a Bellinis & Bloody Mary are available at £5.00 this is... More

visited Saturday evening for first time since refurb. Decor has lost its classy edge and chairs are too low for tables. Menu now lost its French touch and now a very overpriced grill. Too many very good competitors in Chelmsford area for these inflated prices. Also needs a good restaurant Manager to make the guests feel wanted. Shame

Dear Sir, I believe our refurbishment is wonderful many customers have commented on it also. It's dissapointing that you don't agree but obviously you are entitled to your opinion. We have many dishes that don't use the Grill it's just an additional feature in our kitchen. It allows us to cook the meat & fish as well as some vegetables... More

visited tonight with my boyfriend and was pleasantly surprised! Have not been here since a bad experience when it was The Blue Bridge, so thought with a change of management, as such, would try again. It was quiet but that did not deter from the atmosphere or ambience. All staff were exceedingly polite, well trained and on hand; especially Jack... More

Went to this restaurant for a birthday meal, and had a fantastic time. The service was very professional, yet friendly. Upon entering the venue, you can see that a lot has been spent on ensuring that the decor is on point... This makes for a nice cosy setting as soon as you walk in. I had the Dexter Seared Beef... Upon arriving we were greeted with welcome drinks and then shown shortly after to our special table overlooking the restaurant. Private dining in restaurants is a tough nut to crack. Generally one feels secluded from the rest of the diners and you loose that atmosphere. It was absolutely not the case here. We totally felt part of the wider picture... More

This is a really great venue, good music being played, which contributes to the atmosphere. We were served by Annie who was very helpful. The fillet steak was one of the best you'll find anywhere, absolutely superb! Good wine list and overall a great place to dine. We will be back!
