The bar Turrisi is a place of worship located in Castelmola. Founded in 1947 at the hands of the rider Salvatore Turrisi, was born as an inn for foreigners where they were sipping tasty almond wine made with white grapes and infusion of bitter almonds. Structure after the war that has turned into a hotel, here you can enjoy over the almond wine, pizzas, pasta dishes ices and ice cream. Also extends over four elevations with views of the Duomo of Castelmola Gulf of Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna. He became famous for his sculptures representing the phallic worship and the very free social custom that made Taormina a cultural reference for many artists and not. Many magazines show us how one of the attractions of Sicily, but we like to think that convey a thought of being Sicilian and freedom of expression, in a structure difficult to manage since the 4 levels. Who does not know how to interpret these places far from wanting to be rude, and does not know or does not have the respect of all that, the place to find elsewhere.

This bar is something unique. It is beautiful and full with comic pictures and status and stunning views. On the top there is a panoramic balcony and during the evening the view is awesome. You can taste typical wine of almonds on unusual place. To feel the atmosphere of Life in Taormina.

This would have to be amazing, I have never seen anything like this. My cousin's brought me up here after spending a beautiful day on the beach at Isola Bella. Talk about Phallic symbols, Cocks everywhere. There are that many penises, that ones eyes don't know where to look. A pity they weren't real otherwise it would be a Roman... More

Fantastic location with a stunning view. Unique place with an interesting story. Beside the fact it's not a restaurant, you may find something for any taste. The staff is out of any expectations...funny, friendly but absolutely helpful! The prices are not the cheapest (but still not expensive) but it's worth a visit if you are in Castelmola! Absolutely recommended at... More

Good fun to visit this landmark in Castelmola. We have visited Sicily for these past 3 years, and this bar is one of the places we make a point to visit, whether for a snack or for a beer.

We were told by local friends that this was a must do. The decor is outrageously silly, but it makes the place fun... in an immature like manner. The pizza was good, and their homemade almond wine is delicious. If you have the time, I highly recommend the short bus ride up from Taormina. You can easily walk the town... More

I hate to give away the surprises this restaurant holds, but feel I cannot complete this review without including some of the pictures. Some people may feel inclined to skip it if perhaps they have an aversion to human anatomy. BUT, it is good for some good giggles with the family and the food was wonderful. This was actually our... Did not eat here. Just came to see the "sights" - both from the rooftop terrace that puts you at eye level with the nearby Duomo bell tower and the rooftops of Castelmola - a medieval town that sits high above Taormina. Worth the drive up the switchback road (or take the local shuttle) to see the famous "Penis" Bar... More

A great little place worth checking out. There are stunning views from the third floor terrace. Our pizzas were lovely. We didn't know about the 'decor' until we got there but it made the whole visit more fun - and it was funny watching other people's reactions as it dawned on them.
