The bar Turrisi is a place of worship located in Castelmola. Founded in 1947 at the hands of the rider Salvatore Turrisi, was born as an inn for foreigners where they were sipping tasty almond wine made with white grapes and infusion of bitter almonds. Structure after the war that has turned into a hotel, here you can enjoy over the almond wine, pizzas, pasta dishes ices and ice cream. Also extends over four elevations with views of the Duomo of Castelmola Gulf of Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna. He became famous for his sculptures representing the phallic worship and the very free social custom that made Taormina a cultural reference for many artists and not. Many magazines show us how one of the attractions of Sicily, but we like to think that convey a thought of being Sicilian and freedom of expression, in a structure difficult to manage since the 4 levels. Who does not know how to interpret these places far from wanting to be rude, and does not know or does not have the respect of all that, the place to find elsewhere.

Great Fun!!

My sister inspired our visit to Bar Turrisi in Castelmola, Sicily. We enjoyed the charming views, nice staff and eccentric decor. Celebrated another "mission accomplished" moment in Sicily with a delicious penne with lemon sauce and a glass of wine. Salute!!

Great bar, service and deco. A must see when in Castelmola. Biscuits and almond wine are lovely. We had a relaxing afternoon taking in the view and ended up taking biscuits and wine home for family and friends.

Regardless of the eccentric decor (which admittedly is hilarious and also somehow cozy ... ?!) the pizza served here is probably the best I have had in north east Sicily, possibly all of Sicily. If you are a meat eater like my mother try pizza Turrisi the speciality, you won't regret it! The view is outstanding, so beautiful, there are... More

three floors of eccentric adults only oriented decor...really funny and worth taking quite a few good pics for fun memories...the shape of the menu for drinks as well as the menu for food is to say the least quite interesting... awesome views..service with a smile...and the vino de mandorla was quite good...this bar makes a visit to Castelmola all worthwhile..

My tour group just visited this restaurant today. We have had a reservation for months for 26 people. You would think they would have been better prepared. After an hour and forty five minutes we had only received Bruchetta and Antipasta. We still had two courses to go plus dessert. At this pace we would have been there another hour... More

We visited Bar Turrisi after trekking up the hill from Taormina - we were there at end of March and not all businesses were open yet, so we were happy to find such a warm and welcoming place. The décor is very well done - it's a bit dark inside and took a minute to see the collection of fertility... More

I had a great time there enjoying the meal and the view because Castelmola is right on top of Taormina. The service is good and Mr Massimo goes " al massimo" to assist everyone. The theme is phallic, however, has nothing to do with obscenity or pornography. Actually all woodcraft is very well done. Tanti auguri per 2015!
