Wonderful pub in a quaint village. Food is excellent and you can watch the steam train going passed.

We visited here for the first time whilst on holiday and will definitely return. Lovely home-cooked food and very generous portions! The landlord was welcoming and friendly and the pub warm and cosy on a chilly August evening! Only disappointed we haven't tried it before when we've been in the area.

We visited here on 2 evenings, friendly place, nice to sit in the garden at the back and watch the steam trains & the river. The best scampi with chips & crab salad I've ever had. If we're ever back that way we'll make sure we stop here for something to eat & drink

Proper pub, nice carvery with proper home cooked food. However, bar man & chef could both do with a personality. Not very welcoming & chef was obviously fed up. Average!

Called in for a drink and chatted to the landlady, really warn and friendly. She was interested in the walk we'd just done from Sleights to Ruswerp. We got chatting to one of the locals, a lovely guy who had 2 gorgeous dogs. We decided to go back on our journey home for a spot of lunch. We ordered steak... More

Railway walk from Whitby to ruswarp. We had a nice lunch with some good choices of real ale. A nice welcome too. Also recommended for watching the river and trains go by in the pub garden.

We stayed not far away from the Bridge inn and popped in on our first night for a bite to eat with friends. The food and atmosphere was excellent to say the least. We were made to feel very welcome and will definitely be making a return. Be sure to play with the dogs in the garden and if you... More
