Nice local restaurant / bar (probably the only place to eat after 8 in town) - really relaxed and friendly, nice porch/patio and great Canadian wildlife mounted on the walls (fish, a lynx, owls etc)

Whilst our Saturday evening meal in late May was excellent - pickerel and lamb shank, the choice of alcoholic beverages was poor, particularly the beer. The only draft beer ran out after a quarter of a glass!! And bottled /canned beers were minimal. When there is an LCBO around the corner, why... read more

After a tire-blowout on the Motor Coach, and getting it stuck in the mud at our RV park, we were in lousy moods when we came in. The special was baked whitefish caught that morning with a tricked-up black bean sauce, and grilled vegetables. The food was terrific, the wine fine. The owner was the chef, and his son the... More

This is an area with very few choices for eating out. Not a fancy place but the service was very good. The pizza was fantastic ... this chef knows what he's doing.

Came in on a Wednesday night when staying at a motel down the road, as this place was recommended. However, as it was October, this may have been one of the only 2 places to eat open during this season. The style of the interior was roadhouse with a twist: TV and wood, but lots of native paintings on the... More

Simple menu, limited drink selection, average portions. If you stick with the specials or their specialties the food is good. Don't try to think outside the box.

If you happen to visit Manitoulin Island in Ontario you MUST eat here. It's in a hamlet called Manitowaning. Looks uninspiring from the outside and like no more than a regular small town bar inside but the food (prepared by the chef/proprietor) is AMAZING - absolutely world class. First night I had duck stew with wild chanterelles served over lentils.... More

This is a bar and grill with great food. I had the lamb dinner and really enjoyed it. Friendly service, too.

Some menu items were already gone when we arrived at 6:00, but we ate well regardless. The menu was surprisingly different for a small place - chanterelle mushroons and braised lamb was unexpected, and very good. Well worth eating here.

The waitress was charming and engaging and didn't seem like we were inconveniencing her. The food was ok, I had a burger and fries. Homemade patty at least. My friends had wings and seemed to really like them. Not a bad place to eat at all.
