Good value and service

Quality and reasonably priced meals in very cosy surroundings, with the fireplace going over dinner. Besides my overcooked rump, which was sorted out very quickly, certainly one of the best chicken liver dishes and the Amarula dessert superb.

Wonderful menu and great ambience for a cold winters day. The carpaccio and chicken curry were awesome!

The dinner and breakfast menu had good variety. The food was excellent, the wine list too short and too few local wines. Local wines on wine list was more than double the farm prices. Would recommend the restaurant for good food.

Had dinner at The Olive Terrace with loadshedding, but everywhere were candles, fires and it made the perfect atmosphere! Could make everything on the menu except chips or baked puddings but that was perfect for us who follow banting! Even had cauli-mash! Food was great and service was outstanding! Everyone is right about this place! Thank you!

We arrived in Cape Town in the morning and drove straight up to Tulbagh. Tulbagh Hotel was recommended to us by the place we're staying as a good place to eat. The restaurant is The Olive Terrace but it's in the building of the Hotel. Our group is two couples. The fire was going, and the old-fashioned furniture made it... More

We enjoyed a most excellent late lunch on a Sunday when most people had gone home. The service was attentive and the meal delicious!

The Olive Terrace in Tulbagh was risky choice because we did not know the area. It turned out to be a lovely afternoon. The portions were very generous, especially the Butternut and Lamb soup. We had between us the chicken curry, the aubergine pasta and the kudu fillet. Again, generous portions and presented well. The meals are not quite fine-dining... More

Dear Adam many thanks for your review. Our wine list consists of only local wines. We need to stock wines for which there is a demand, but I take your point and will stock a few more of the local premium wines. Thanks for the suggestion. Kind regards Alasdair More

I have been here a couple of times now and I love this restaurant. It has an incredible homie feeling with a fire place and a beautiful bar and really good food.

Hi Many thanks for your valued comments. We have been busy picking local oranges and grapefruit to make more of our own marmalade. Thanks for coming back to us, we really appreciate repeat custom. See you soon Alasdair More
