A Lazy Afternoon Lunch

The Olive Terrace in Tulbagh was risky choice because we did not know the area. It turned out to be a lovely afternoon. The portions were very generous, especially the Butternut and Lamb soup. I have been here a couple of times now and I love this restaurant. It has an incredible homie feeling with a fire place and a beautiful bar and really good food.

Sat outside which was lovely but moved in as it got too cold. Inside they had lovely big fire going. Service was good and food ok.

We visited The Olive Terrace by chance on Sunday, and were seated at a lovely table on the terrace overlooking the quaint town of Tulbagh. The menu is fresh and seasonable, and the food is absolutely delicious and very good value for money! From the starter of baked camembert with breadsticks and cranberry sauce served with a glass of Port... More

We had breakfast and supper at this wonderful Hotel and the food and service was AWESOME. The atmosphere was out of this world with the fireplace going and snacks on your table when you sitting in the diningroom/pub having a drink and reading your newspaper.

Very good service - waitron was friendly, gave menu suggestions and we were thanked for the gratuity (very rare these days!) Generous portions and value for money. A nice ambience on the patio under the trees. Definitely on the "menu" on our next visit to Tulbagh.

Dear Denise many thanks for your review. Special thanks for mentioning your waitron. We have just upgraded our hot chocolate offerings, using chocolate pods from Cocoa Fair of Cape Town. Dark chocolate, chocolate and mint, vanilla and white chocolate. Ideal for a winter's day! Best wishes Alasdair More

Breakfast for 6 on a crisp winter's morning. Seated inside near the fireplace. Cozy country feel to the place. Couple of breakfast options available and food was very well prepared. For 6 people breakfast bill with additional coffees / teas came to R450.

Dear Andreolivier thanks for your generous review. We have the open fire burning day and night in winter, and it really does create a cozy atmosphere. Hope to welcome you back soon. Alasdair More
