“Huge portions, excellent service”

Hof Ter Doest is, in my opinion, one of the greatest restaurants in Belgium. Not only does it have unexcelled food, but a large grassed area around the monastery built a thousand years ago. That area has a lot of sculptures, wich you can admire any time you want and adds value to the location. It... read more

I dined here twice last month. One time it was superb, the other time it was really bad... The first time I dined here, this was in the week around noontime. Service was excellent, personnal. The diner was excellent, beatifull meat, cooked to perfection in large portions. The second time I dined here at saturday evening with my family. The... More

We went to hof ter doest for dinner on a Sunday night. Booking a table was not a problem. My friend had schlump Crocker and I had marrowbones. Nicely cooked. For the main course we had grilled hate which came with pear, wild mushrooms and Savoy cabbage. The hare was great. We had enough to eat and decided against a... More

Enough sitting place in- and outside, enough parking space. Nice to sit on the terrace where You here the trees rustling. You don't need to order a starter because the main course is so big You have enough with only this main course. Also You get an amuse-geule with Your apperitive. The mushroomcreamsauce is delicious and very rich, a bit... More

This is a unique experience at certainly one of the great restaurants of Europe. The restaurant is on the property of a monastery built circa 1200. The restaurant is quaint building in the country outside Brugge and features some of the best beef in all of Europe. Their signature dish is Chateau Briand with frites that two people cannot finish.... More

This was recommended by a friend for the restaurant. If u like steak this is a steak fest...the fillet is 3 times bigger than you would get in the uk for the money. All the food was good and the wines were excellent The rooms however whilst being interesting and modern were certainly not the quietest. It was like a... More

Been there many times over the last decades. The meat is still very good and plentiful, but that's where it ends. I have seen it going down in many areas over the past decades. Service was very poor and slow on a friday evening and it was like throwing plates on the table and serve yourself... They could a least... More

Good restaurant, We got a warm welcome, had great service.food was really good honest food. Nice shrimp croquettes as starter an a huge portion of cured meat cooked on the grill as main. Absolutely no more room for dessert! Nice place to go.

I've been at least 20 times to this restaurant. It's open 7/7, you can come in at 3pm and eat without any problems. The price / quality is fantastic! Yes you pay 30 euro for a lot of the dishes but you get a small entree, and the steaks are twice the size and twice the quality of other restaurants!... More
