A disappointment

Took my boys, it was getting close to closing time but there was a good half hour left. The staff were prepping for close and it was clear our appearance wasn't apperciated. They messed up my order - very difficult Club Sandwich and my 6 year old had to ask for ketchup three times (admittedly the... read more

The food was good and very much comfort dinner style. The atmosphere, which they bill as 50's dinner is so so. Lofty ceilings (or should I say 60's warehouse) were too weird. It definitely lacks a cosy feeling and needs some help with furniture placement. I'll be back but only for the food.

Ate at the True North Diner on Sunday the 23rd of November. We reserved a table for 13. Service was excellent considering the size of the group. Everyone enjoyed their meal, from Nathan's hot dogs, roast beef dinner to double burgers. Refills on drinks were prompt. The homemade pie is what keeps us coming back. Put a few quarters into... My husband, two children and I decided to head to the True North Diner for dinner after an appointment. We arrived at 3:30 and it wasn't busy at all, so we were seated promptly and ordered drinks. We love the atmosphere and the jukebox is a definite favourite as my children love music and dancing. The jukebox wasn't playing when... More

This restaurant is a good place to eat if you are a gambler. I have had some good meals here and some very bad ones. the prices are good but the food is just OK at best.

We have dined here on several occasions and generally have found the food to be good. On our most recent visit the service was good and very quick, even though they were very busy. |We both had the grilled fish and the fish was cooked just right, but we have 2 complaints, the fries were just barely warm but most... The atmoshpere is great...........and it is fun.......HOWEVER..........THE FOOD is lacking............... the fries are limp as they sit under a heating lamp to long..............burgers I found were very greasy..........seems it must be the cheapest gound beef around...........overall for the price, it is not worth it.........I certianly would not recommend it based on food, but love the atmoshpere,............again, I doubt if I... Advertised as a 1950s diner and meets expectations in every way. There is a large jukebox with hits from the 50s and 60s playing, and there is enough space in front of the jukebox that one could probably dance a jive if they chose. The menu is varied and ranges from your typical hamburgers, fish and chips etc. to what... More
