Shared the suckling pig with 5 friends recently and it was very, very good. Great crackling, plenty of meat and the sides that come with the pig are excellent. Standout salad was the apple coleslaw which complimented the pork perfectly. Service was excellent.

Very impressed with the food, seemed pretty reasonable prices. We ordered a 1/4 pig and was plenty of meat for 4, the salads were quite good. The beer was very good also. It's has a feel as a different place with a different kind of menu but a great experience.

Tasty, different, dishes. With sharing in mind, there are some inventive and tasty dishes. Nothing is ordinary or typical of any other cafe or restaurant I've eaten at in Melbourne. Great space, friendly staff, all round fun. Great for groups, birthdays, a bit of fun, they have a brewary too. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but a pleasant... More

I have been to the True South few times for Sunday lunch as I live nearby and always very happy with the vibrant menu's choice Mauro (the Argentinean chef) has put together travelling around the world and the great beers brewed in the place. Beautiful venue also for functions and banquets upstairs with great view of the Bay.

Exceptional food and service. We had Saffron Risotto, lentils, black spuds and duck. Excellent wine and beer list. Very cosy without being too close. Lots of families enjoying the good food. very good knowledgeable staff.

Went for a quick beer today. Beer brewed on site and very tasty. Well thought out beer menus and the food looked really good. The suckling pig looked like a great sharer for friends and I'd like to go back. I'd probably add a tough of low music to add to the atmosphere in the day but overall it was... More

My husband entered a silent raffle at a fund raiser to win a prize of a meal for four people at True South. He was lucky enough to win. We arrived for a 6pm sitting with our two best friends and were straight away led to a table and offered drinks and small ciabatta rolls with ricotta butter and yummo.... More

Wanted to try the place for a long time and we couldn't wait to taste some Argentinean share plates. Boy, we weren't disappointed! The only drawback would be that it can be quite noisy but that didn't affect us. I can see why this place is so popular. Two seatings were offered.. We opted for 8.30pm. Dishes ordered were octopus,... More

Arrived early evening on Tuesday without a booking - the place was fully booked! Was that a problem? NO….the waitress found a way to fit us in plus accommodate my 4 year old son who did not like the "bar stool option". The service was fantastic and the food was beyond expectation - we chose 5 tapas "Argentinean influenced" dishes... More

Great Food, Beer, Cider and atmosphere. Service not so good both times I have been here. Constantly asking for someone to come over to clear table and order food.
