Great Tapas Sharing

Great food & venue. Service a tad sloppy at times. Will definitely be back for the suckling pig, looks exceptional!

Great local beer brewed on the premises, good outside seating with a great view over the Bay. Good food and service in their restaurant.

Terrible. Firstly, ushered out to the back tables with no atmosphere, no view. Second, their own brewery was shut and house beer no longer served. Third, the waiters did not understand their own menu! If you are going to have a Spanish menu, train your staff! Laughable. Then, we finished our meals and plates left on table for half an... More

Great food, fun and atmosphere. Need to get in early at the weekend as this place gets full early, hard to get a table outside on a sunny day.

Craft beer menu, what's happened to it? Service is so poor, we have been waiting for 10 min and then approach the waiter. After 5 min we've got bottle of water. Three stars because of nice beef cheeks and nice salad. I am not sure of returning in near future specialy when you have so many nice restaurant around.

Whiting tails, quinoa salad, squid, octopus rice, prawn rice & black beans. All were delicious. Good sizes, value prices. Nice little breads & sofrito to start. Highly recommended.

This place has changed hands and now only sells Carlton Draught, Peroni and Asahi. These beers are most likely brewed in Australia and are usually flat and uninteresting and True South is no exception in this regard. The True south beers were always a highlight but know it is just another over priced ($12 for 400mlds) second rate drinking establishment... More

Last time we were there we only had drinks, but we went for the pre-ordered roast suckling pig this time. And it was superb - lovely crispy skin and very succulent perfectly cooked meat. Porkilicious - we also had some great breads and the spinach fritters were heavenly. Expensive for the quarter pig at A$165 but it feeds 4 or... More

Interesting tapas and shared plates, tasty.and good size for sharing. Wines pricey, as they seem to be in most places these days. Beers made in their own brewery but we didn't try any. Service good but haphazard - multiple servers would ask us the same question, eg would you like coffee. Good location in Black Rock but street parking could... More

I have visited True South several times and find it quite a good spot to have a glass of wine and soak up some afternoon sun (better mid week as during the weekend it is quite busy). The menu is quite limited in terms of healthy options however they do have a quinoa salad and scollops on the menu which... More
