An evening at the Cerberus is a must for me at least once whenever I visit the family. It's just such an excellent experience with really good and imaginative food served in a relaxed but professional and fun setting overlooking the bay. The family like eating there too as there's a children's menu and the beach down below for a... More

This is the first time we went there and will certainly come back, we did not book and it was fully booked but the very nice personnel made it possible for us to eat there. Great food, very nice atmosphere, a fantastic view over the sea. Food is interesting, innovative and delicious. The best view is close to the window,... More

Last evening we enjoyed a fabulous meal @ Cerberus Beach House with phenomenal views of the gentle white surf below our window. Our meals of filleted Barramundi & traditional Fish & Chips were superb, having started with a cottage loaf, that was really great & extremely tasty - served with butter, olive oil & chilli oil, which went down a treat with my partner.... I last visited the Cerberus Beach House in January last year when I said the food and service were very good. We came again this January 2015 and enjoyed another wonderful Fish meal, good selection of dishes and excellent Australian Wines to choose from. Once again the service and cuisine were very good and nicely presented at a reasonable price.... More

Tucked away in an alcove, the Cerberus Beach House is one of the better kept Melbourne bayside secrets, in my opinion. My wife and I read about the place in the Urban Flavors of Melbourne book, and made a group booking for 4. The Cerberus Boat House is reminiscent of a Newport Rhode Island eating house, with stunning bay views,... More

Visited with my partner just after New Year. This was my second visit and his first. He's pretty fussy about portion size often claiming he is more hungry leaving a restaurant than when he arrives. I booked last minute on line but when we arrived the male in charge appeared not to have our booking ( I later found the... More

We had lunch here in January 2015. Food was ok but overpriced. $25 for 1 serve of fish and chips. Rivers restaurant further down the bay offers a more substantial amount of food (3 serves of fish and chips) for the same price. Service was also a bit slow on the saturday we were there. The restaurant wasn't that full... More

Hi - thanks for your review. We're surprised you found the food overpriced, and are not sure which restaurant you are comparing us to. Riva in St Kilda charge almost the same for their similar fish & chips dish ($28.50) which is on par with many similar establishments in the area (whether one large piece of fish or three smaller... We went back to have a second dinner at Cerberus Beach House. Given the size of Melbourne, this means something. The first time we went there, we did not book and it was fully booked. Still, the very nice personnel made it possible for us to eat there. And it really was worthwhile to wait a bit. Superb food, very... More

Five people had two courses and the massive shared dessert plate plus copious quantities of wine and it was just under $300. Amazing value for delicious food. Great spot for such a nice sunny evening.

Restaurant wasn't bad, started off with a HUGE plate of olives (way too many for 2 people) and cob bread with three different spreads - olive oil, harissa and garlic butter. I had seafood linguine, the prawns were cooked nicely but the scallops were almost raw. Other half had the fish and chips but at $29 it seemed a bit... More
