With impressive modern Australian dishes and a spectacular location on Half Moon Bay, near Black Rock, Cerberus Beach House turns the simple pleasure of fish and chips on the beach into something truly special. Good old-fashioned ‘real’ fish and chips are served in the downstairs kiosk while upstairs, patrons can enjoy a smarter, yet still relaxed, dining experience amidst cool blues and whites, warm timber tables and chairs, and breathtaking views of the bay. Built on the finest seasonal ingredients sourced locally wherever possible, Cerberus’ menu is a tantalising mix of modern Australian options and fresh seafood worthy of the magnificent setting.

Fish in light and crispy batter, and a great location sitting outside watching the bay. Our special treat fish and chips shop.

Whilst the view is just wonderful the prices are not exactly cheap. One fillet of fish and chips $29. The souffle was OK but for $17, more than a tablespoon of cinnamon icecream would have been expected. The menu is limited. The waiter never cracked a smile the whole time we were there. Steep stairs are not for the less... More

Hi Maureen, thank you for your feedback. While not everyone will agree, we do work hard to keep the prices of our fresh and locally sourced fare affordable, as recognised recently by the Herald Sun food critic who noted 'top food, views - without the hefty bill'. The service experience you describe seems very uncharacteristic, and I hope we may... More

Cerberus really delivered for our foursome. Excellent quality and friendly service in a spectacular location, and a good wine list. A destination restaurant for an evening on the fringes of Melbourne, We had to book for a few days later than originally hoped for, it is very popular.

Views of the angry bay yesterday whilst we ate beautiful food served by a very pleasant waitress. Second time we have been to this restaurant for lunch and love it. Good variety on menu plus some blackboard specials---the lemon meringue tart was to die for and, for the diet-conscious, there was no pastry base, so less kilojoules!! The smoked salmon... More

An evening at the Cerberus is a must for me at least once whenever I visit the family. It's just such an excellent experience with really good and imaginative food served in a relaxed but professional and fun setting overlooking the bay. The family like eating there too as there's a children's menu and the beach down below for a... More

This is the first time we went there and will certainly come back, we did not book and it was fully booked but the very nice personnel made it possible for us to eat there. Great food, very nice atmosphere, a fantastic view over the sea. Food is interesting, innovative and delicious. The best view is close to the window,... More

Last evening we enjoyed a fabulous meal @ Cerberus Beach House with phenomenal views of the gentle white surf below our window. Our meals of filleted Barramundi & traditional Fish & Chips were superb, having started with a cottage loaf, that was really great & extremely tasty - served with butter, olive oil & chilli oil, which went down a treat with my partner.... I last visited the Cerberus Beach House in January last year when I said the food and service were very good. We came again this January 2015 and enjoyed another wonderful Fish meal, good selection of dishes and excellent Australian Wines to choose from. Once again the service and cuisine were very good and nicely presented at a reasonable price.... More

Tucked away in an alcove, the Cerberus Beach House is one of the better kept Melbourne bayside secrets, in my opinion. My wife and I read about the place in the Urban Flavors of Melbourne book, and made a group booking for 4. The Cerberus Boat House is reminiscent of a Newport Rhode Island eating house, with stunning bay views,... More
