great savory food, owner with too much personality

The food is very good in general, very invested with attention to details. Serves are not very big, just saying. It worked well for me. The deserts were disappointing, medioka for 16 dollars, not good enough. The waiter, I think he is the owner, was very unpleasant to me, you know how sometimes the... read more

Entrée platter, disgusting, A basic fundemental of a good restaurant is when they ask how you would like your steak. Not here. I ordered the fillet steak and asked for it rare, only to be told the chef only prepares the steak medium. I stated that a nice eye fillet steak should be cooked to order and that such a... More

We went here on a Tuesday night, hoping for a special meal for my partner's birthday. The full restaurant & lovely menu had raised our hopes, but dinner was pretty poor. We started off with a nearly inedible Beef Tartare, due to extremely salty capers throughout. The cob loaf was OK but nothing special. For main we then had the... More

I was looking for a casual restaurant to impress an international guest. Was blown away with quality of food and menu. Booked using Dimmi App the day before. Restaurant was full so glad I booked.

Surprisingly, as a nearby resident, I visited for dinner for the first time. Friends were with us on a mild night, slight breeze, and lots of entertainment as the launching ramp was busy! A variety of starters gave us an opportunity to discuss the menu. Fish all round ( including a WA barramundi?) was superb - moist, great chips and... More

revisited restaurant for lunch. Had a window seat overlooking the Cerberus fantastic! It was a hot day and lots of people downstairs at takeaway. It was a long long wait for our food.... 1 hour for fish and chips and a pasta dish! Obviously the much cheaper takeaway gets priority over the top paying restaurant. When the food arrived it... Fish in light and crispy batter, and a great location sitting outside watching the bay. Our special treat fish and chips shop.

Whilst the view is just wonderful the prices are not exactly cheap. One fillet of fish and chips $29. The souffle was OK but for $17, more than a tablespoon of cinnamon icecream would have been expected. The menu is limited. The waiter never cracked a smile the whole time we were there. Steep stairs are not for the less... More

Hi Maureen, thank you for your feedback. While not everyone will agree, we do work hard to keep the prices of our fresh and locally sourced fare affordable, as recognised recently by the Herald Sun food critic who noted 'top food, views - without the hefty bill'. The service experience you describe seems very uncharacteristic, and I hope we may... More

Cerberus really delivered for our foursome. Excellent quality and friendly service in a spectacular location, and a good wine list. A destination restaurant for an evening on the fringes of Melbourne, We had to book for a few days later than originally hoped for, it is very popular.

Views of the angry bay yesterday whilst we ate beautiful food served by a very pleasant waitress. Second time we have been to this restaurant for lunch and love it. Good variety on menu plus some blackboard specials---the lemon meringue tart was to die for and, for the diet-conscious, there was no pastry base, so less kilojoules!! The smoked salmon... More
