Memorable lunch tasting menu

Had lunch here with a large group from the UK on a 'trade mission' to the Basque region so did not have a choice in menu and cannot comment on the price. We had high expectations on this place due to the name. Food and place is average, which is not bad in itself, as we did not seek an super-elegant one either. The price, however, does not correspond, and gives the impression that it leans too much on the owners name.

Had a superb lunch in the main restaurant to celebrate the first day of our holiday. We decided to go for the tasting menu and were not dissapointed! The service was good, the wine lovely and the food excellent. It was nice to feel the relaxed atmosphere in such a prestigious place and to have a beautiful view of the... More

Famous and funny Basque TV chef Arguinano's restaurant is located with his small hotel and overlooks the beautiful beach of Zarautz (famous for its good and accessible surfing). It also has a small terrace, for drinks, pintxos or a coffee and although I went for lunch, I imagine there should be a nice view of the sunset. Everything is great... More

The restaurant is part of a small hotel/inn run by a Basque celebrity chef. The restaurant itself is very simple in its decor, but its location and the service MORE than make up for that. You WILL need reservations as the dining area is not huge and does fill up quickly. Mostly locals sprinkled with a couple of tourists (us... More

Very friendly reception and great location. Be careful about the location of your table as my husband was too hot in the sun, but hey! if you are British that is a small unusual thing to moan about! The food was all of very good quality and the service was excellent. we can recommend the prawn starter, the duck and... More

Staying in Zarautz for a few days we were recommended by some locals to visit this place. The first thing to say is that the location is amazing: perched right at the edge of the amazing long beach of Zarautz and looking across the sea to the nearby town of Getaria- the view is mesmerizing. We had a very nice... More

We stopped in Zarautz while on our way to San Sebastián specifically because we wanted to visit this restaurant: we were really curious to have a launch at Karlos Arguiñano's restaurant. I guess the popularity and the sympathy of this cook played a significant part in our decision. I discovered his television cooking show when I moved to Spain 7... More

Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend in Sep 2013. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with a raised terrace overlooking the beach in Zarautz, a seaside resort outside of San Sebastian (20 min drive to San Sebastian, €35 taxi, 45 mins on a bus for about €2.30). Our room was large with a view of the ocean,... More

It is a nice restaurant on the Hotel Arguinano in Zarautz, on the beach with beautiful view to the beach and excellent food to very reasonable price , the best value for money I ever tried. It is in Zarautz not in San Sebastián it is 20 min from San Sebastián by car
