Located in an old Georgian building this brasserie boasts a wonderful interior with several levels providing different dining environments overlooking an open, mezzanine kitchen. On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly, knowledgeable team and the lively ambience is complemented by a menu inspired by the simple, hearty dishes of M. Blanc's childhood.

Alongside an appetising a la carte menu and carefully selected wine list we offer an excellent value set menu and on Sundays we serve a classic roast with all the trimmings. Younger diners can choose from a special children's menu or order a half sized portion of many of the a la carte dishes on offer. For summer dining our secluded terrace is the ideal escape.

Quite nice

Lovely restaurant with a bar area upstairs. I had the two course lunch special and it was nice - not great. Staff and service however were really good so I would give it 4 stars for that.

My daughter and son in law gave us a voucher for the Highwayman restaurant as a Christmas present, they said that they have been there on a number of occasions and they recommended it. We booked a table for 7.15pm on a Friday night and had a really nice warm welcome from the staff. There was lots of choice on... More

Friendly staff. Good menu. Reason for only three stars was the fillet steak was over done and a bit chewy and the side was a little disappointing, this particular dish not good value for money. Shame as my starter and husbands food was great. First visit since it has been taken over. Would go again but would not order a... More

We visited the highwayman recently, although it was a Saturday night they didn't seem to busy in the restaurant around 7pm. We were sat down and the hostess brought some water and left. The waiter did not then come to the table and ask for drink for around 5 minutes- but we weren't too concerned. We ordered the duck and... More

Great food, great wine and a lovely atmosphere! Had a nice table at the end of the restaurant. A slight breeze from the door on right but not a problem.

Our first visit since it was rebranded from a Brasserie Blanc, and although I liked the new decor which gives it a light airy feel, and it felt busier and more lively than before, I think the service has suffered. I also have no idea why they have put a TV in the bar area - this just looks wrong... More

Food was OK but nothing special. Menu sounds flash but food doesn't hit the mark! But good for families as large tables and lots of space!

The staff were so helpful and the food excellent. They catered for me with alleges as I am vegetarian, coeliac and allergic to vinegar so not the easiest person to cater for. They were attentive but not constantly bothering you. Have been a couple of times now and very impressed in all aspects, lovely atmosphere, not to noisy and very... More

I visited this restaurant for lunch and found they offered a great set menu. The food was fabulous and I look forward to returning to try the wider menu.

My family and I visited The Highwayman last Thursday night for my birthday. Based on previous experience I didn't want to go anywhere else. The service and food was lovely. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I can't wait to go back!
