Very good pre-Rex meal

Wonderfully convenient for eating and then popping next door / upstairs to the Rex. The early evening menu is good value for 2 courses plus wine (14.95) but it is a sudden hike to add a 3rd course (£20.90) - this seems a disproportionate jump! The duo of Smoked Salmon was excellent with the... read more

Went there for Valentines Night. On arrival was offered a glass of Champagne, the inference being it was complimentary. Found the two glasses charged at £9.50 each. I don't expect complimentary drinks from restaurants, but felt this was their way of boosting the bill. Won't make the mistake of eating there again; plenty of other good restaurants locally. I would... More

This whole place has style and a great atmosphere. Front of house is excellent. Food very inventive. They do deliver on taste and presentation. We had a lovely big table for two. Loved it!. However the staff who served us was indifferent. We've had better service at Carluccios. They seemed like they really didn't want to be there. It's a... More

This is one of the best meals I've had in Berkhamsted. The quality and standard of food is excellent and service is second to none. The Sunday lunch in our opinion is one of best.

We had a really nice lunch at The Gatsby, there was only one other couple eating, it was Monday after all. It's a great restaurant for a quiet lunch. We both had different dishes for our starter, main course and dessert. All were suberb. I would give it 5 stars, but for the limited choice of dessert - everything was... More

Met family at Gatsby's for Sunday Lunch with background music. Had a really good time and meal.on what was our first visit The food was varied the rabbit was tender and something different, service reasonable (bearing in mind that we were a group of eleven) and a relaxed style which perfectly suited the event. Only slightly downside is the parkng... More

Food is always well cooked and delicious. Atmosphere is superb. Plenty of space between tables so you don't have to listen in to other conversations! Friendly and efficient waiting staff. Great value for money.

Wonderful traditional cinema which is run by passionate Nick. I couldn't recommend a table at the front with a bottle of wine whilst watching a movie more than at The Rex. People say getting tickets is a hassle but we had no problem getting last minute tickets. Must be experienced to believed.

My daughter and son-in-law took me to the Gatsby for a mother's day threat and treat it was. I have eaten at the gatsby several times and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed in this old cinema foyer with its Art Deco features. The staff were pleasant and attentive and the food was delicious as always.... More

Love this place! I've go to this bar most weekends and never bored of the place. I've eaten a few times and the food is always top quality. The service is always good with friendly staff. The one and only fault I have of this place is their Long Island Ice Tea tastes mainly of coke than alcohol. Would highly... More
