Always very reliable

The Regal continues to be one of the most most reliable of Chinese restaurants. We went again with friends and the experience was very good with professional but relaxed service. Set Menu C was perfect for friendly sharing, with the turntable in the middle of the table providing extra fun.

A few friends and I went to the Regal Friday night and had a lovely evening. We were met with a friendly greeting and experienced good service all evening. We ordered a selection of starters (too many really) but they were all lovely. We followed with soup and then a light main as we were so full. All very tasty... More

Family get together from Wales, Hemel and Switzerland, a great evening. The food, as on previous visits, was excellent, we had a large selection of dishes and courses, all of which lived up to expectation. We specially recommend crispy chilli beef, duck and pancakes, also the crispy lamb. We could also praise the sizzler prawns and fillet steak! What are... More

For whatever reason Chinese restaurants outside honourable exceptions in some of the major cities seem stuck in a time-warp. Whereas one can find exciting modern freshness and flavours in other cuisines even in small towns if one hunts around, the Chinese scene continues serving up vast ranges of different dishes all covered with similar glutatinous overly sweet sauces. Whatever one... More

Really fab food. Had the duck pancakes, and they were delicious! Great for big groups too - lots of space!

Having had a few takeouts from the Regal in the past (very good too), we decided to take our parents for dinner. Service was friendly enough and very efficient. The menu is very varied and priced very reasonably and I must admit the set menu is certainly value for money. The venue is nice and you're not sitting on top... More

We felt so uncomfortable once we had made the decision to go in and sit down. We almost instantly knew we wanted to leave. There were a couple of other tables finishing up. It all felt very old like a retirement home, especially with the decor, chairs & table linen (circa 1979) No banter or real effort made to connect... More

We visited The Regal on Thursday evening. It was virtually empty and no atmosphere. The food was appalling. The duck in orange sauce was bland dry and tasteless, McDonald Chicken Nuggets have more flavour! The mixed Hors d'Oeuvres were boring and came piled on a plate, the rest of the meal was tasteless. This restaurant used to be fabulous, I... More

Booked with work for a meal, when we arrived we were the only customers so hence the exceptional service. (Monday evening) Everyone's meals were piping hot and good equality. Drinks service was frequent. Will no doubt
