This is becoming a bit of a theme about the places I seem to visit - restaurants where you find it difficult to make yourself heard. I have eaten here before - in the nice conservatory area. But on this occasion we were in the former "bar" area: where people still gather to buy drinks before going to their tables... More

Called in on the off-chance of getting a meal and a drink. Beer was very expensive as was the food. All they had left was Fish and Chips.......at that price I expected a massive portion. Smaller than a child's portion at the any of the local pubs. And THREE times the price. Never again!!!!!

To future guests If you frequent such establishments as Wetherspoons, Sizzling pubs (Top of the world), Hungry Horse or similar and are looking to compare our offerings then you are going to be disappointed in terms of price. At these kind of establishments you can get 2 courses for £6.50 so for our charge of £12.95 for Fish and Chips... More

We booked a table here so we could eat in the area before visiting a national trust estate on Sunday. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. I had roast pork which came with super crunchy and light crackling, homemade apple sauce, gluten free gravy (requested), crispy roasties and seasonal veg. My boyfriend had the... More

We have just been today 13thJuly were a bit disappointed as we have been many times and always been pleased. The services was very good and cheerful, the starter's were fine but the carrot cake had no taste at all and cream on top was over powering.Three of us had the lamb which was not warm so we did not bother we... Went for a family evening meal, obviously popular as most tables were occupied. Liked the simple un-fussy surroundings and friendly service. All our food was really good with some very interesting tastes and attention to detail. Chef is really trying here - well done!

I took my mum out for dinner at Martins Pond tonight and had a wonderful meal. I had savoury carrot cake with truffle mascarpone to start, very unusual and interesting. My main course was from the specials board, cod with tomato fondue, aubergine and green beans. It also came with crispy tomato skins, and the best bit of all -... More

We had a nice lunch meal here. My Mum and I both had the bacon and brie sandwich which was amazing and the melted brie was really nice. The crispy courgettes were tasty but I would have preferred them cut thinner as they were a bit too chunky but that's just my personal preference. Nice ale on offer from London... More

It was Friday, and so it must be fish and chips. I started with a crispy smoked bacon salad from the specials board and it was light, well dressed, nicely presented and tasked really good. My haddock and chips with mushy peas arrived piping hot and I have to say it was the best battered fish that I have tasted... More
