Martins Pond is situated in a sleepy little spot opposite a village green. We booked late on a Sunday for lunch and our first impression upon arriving was one of noise. This was because there was a children's birthday party going on in the conservatory. This did not affect us in the main bar /eating area and certainly didn't affect... More

Better than average for pub grub, had a sunday lunch here some months ago and only just got around to doing the review. I would advise booking on a sunday as it is a small area set up with tables and lots of people just pop in so good to book ahead.

We have been here with the family a number of times, often in big groups. The large groups are so well managed. We have a couple of people with various food allergies and Martins Pond could not be more fantastic with this. Overall the food and wine is super and it's a very family friendly pub. Can't wait to get... More

We visited to celebrate our anniversary but had our children in tow too. We ate in the conservatory. On the day we visited it was relatively quiet. The food was delicious and service extremely good. We all had different meals and all thoroughly enjoyed them. We would certainly return!

A lovely setting off the beaten track in Berkhamsted, which is a beautiful place to come regardless. A really nice atmosphere in the restaurant itself with warm yet professional service. A clever and considerate system means you can double-park in the small car park outside the restaurant as long as you're ready to move your car if needs be. The... More

This is becoming a bit of a theme about the places I seem to visit - restaurants where you find it difficult to make yourself heard. I have eaten here before - in the nice conservatory area. But on this occasion we were in the former "bar" area: where people still gather to buy drinks before going to their tables... More

Called in on the off-chance of getting a meal and a drink. Beer was very expensive as was the food. All they had left was Fish and Chips.......at that price I expected a massive portion. Smaller than a child's portion at the any of the local pubs. And THREE times the price. Never again!!!!!

To future guests If you frequent such establishments as Wetherspoons, Sizzling pubs (Top of the world), Hungry Horse or similar and are looking to compare our offerings then you are going to be disappointed in terms of price. At these kind of establishments you can get 2 courses for £6.50 so for our charge of £12.95 for Fish and Chips... More

We booked a table here so we could eat in the area before visiting a national trust estate on Sunday. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. I had roast pork which came with super crunchy and light crackling, homemade apple sauce, gluten free gravy (requested), crispy roasties and seasonal veg. My boyfriend had the... More

My apologies that your visit was not up to our usual high standard. As you say I can only imagine it was a hiccup in the kitchen. If you are ever not 100% satisfied with your meal please do tell us when we check back on your table as we are more than happy to rectify any situation, as we... More
