Quaint little house, very romantic, but a bit awkward as we were only 1 of 2 tables on a Friday night. Service was excellent and prompt. French jazz added to the ambiance. My husband started with the carrot soup special which was very good with an interesting spice, and I had the seafood puff pastry special which was delicious but... More

thinking back, I realize the problems started the moment we stepped in the door. If we had not ignored the outstretched hand which now I realize was not extended in welcome but in anticipation of a tip for a good table, we would have been seated nicely and the evening would not have been off to a bad start...as it... First time there in a long time and what a surprise. New menu, new atmosphere. What an enjoyable meal. Much like you would find in a "Bistro" in Paris, the first meal I've enjoyed from the bread to the dessert. Everything was delicious, even the water that wasn't ice cold but lovely and COOL, not too cold, not to warm,... More

Waiter from France (Grenoble), chef from France, cuisine francaise. Nice. Kind of a big leap of faith to start up a restaurant like this in a small city. McLean's magazine rated this as one of the 50 best restaurants in Canada for 2012. My wife and I had dinner here on her birthday. We had a very enjoyable evening. We... More

Went there for b-day supper and I must say I was completely impressed. The food was excellent, delicious and pretty much any other word you can use to describe food. We had the terrine to start which was to die for, then the braised lamb and lady had the duck everything was cooked to perfection and was delicious. the food... More

Had a mixed first time experience with this restaurant. The food was excellent and nicely presented. The portions were small so the side of fries they offer were welcomed - though, an odd side dish for an otherwise healthly meal. The service was dreadful and we had stretches of 20 and 30 min where the waitress did not come to... More

Had the goat cheese salad and curried lamb. Goat cheese was divine. Overall one of the best lunch experiences I have had in the area. Will be back often.

We went back once again to L'Idylle Restaurant to find that this year they've gone BISTRO! The same delectable menu but... wait a minute, it's now much more affordable and laid back. Just the way I like it lol Chef Charretier knows no boundaries with his talents. The French flair is still there to surprise us at every bite, and... More

my wife and I whenever we return to New Brunswick to visit her family always make a trip to L'ldylle, one of the few places with a truly gastronomic experience in the Maritimes. It is a must for any food lover!!

We first visited this restaurant 2 summers ago and are today unconditional fans. Emmanuel and Hélène, you ROCK! Very impressed with the menu: we've been to several of Québec's top French restaurants, to compare, and L'Idylle offers the best gastronomy in all of New Brunswick, in our opinion. Chef Emmanuel Charretier is a Master, a true innovator -- and a... More
