Great food & atmosphere.

We visited as a family of 2 adults & 2 children. The menu was extensive & mid range in price. The children's menu offered a good range of fresh food and included ice cream for $9. All of the meals were delicious. The building had many places to sit & was comfortable and well furnished. The... read more

If you're after somewhere new for dinner then make sure you try this place on a Wednesday night. $15 for a steak that comes with the most amazing sweet potato chips on the side. Only downside was that I couldn't fit anymore of them in.

My work group had a christmas lunch special at the Railway Hotel and it was excellent. The location is fantastic being a short walk from the station or the tram, and the outdoor courtyard is very warm and inviting. No plate was turned away and everything was finished. An excellent meal and it didn't feel like a pub meal at... More

We were looking for a steak fix late on Wednesday, and after a few false starts remembered about the Railway hotel's special night. All of us had the porterhouse, and with each ordering a different finish from rare to well done, the kitchen delivered. Great salad, pepper sauce, bearnaise and sweet potato chips!

A good meal promptly served. Friendly and efficient staff. Atmosphere and neighbourhood very much ordinary but really nothing specific to complain about.

Love this place! Its become our favourite local. Original décor and great pub menu. We go at least once a week and the friendly staff always look after us. Excellent meal specials on certain nights and inexpensive wine list. Courtyard is lovely and cool in summer and shaded by a massive tree. Menu is simple and the food great value.

Before moving from Melbourne to the UK, having my farewell at one of my old haunts, the infamous Railway Hotel, was chosen. With that typically historic and aged looking bar nestled amongst the front and back watering holes, the gracious space, dining area and of course a very suitably sized outdoor area, certainly allows for any occasion with an eclectic... All six of us ordered the BRISKET with the world's best, home made, giant sweet potato chips. Came with coleslaw and a magnificent sauce. Best service and waiters that actually understood my jokes. Can't wait to return.

Great family friendly pub!!! With reasonable prices and can't go past the steaks. On a hot night the beer garden is awesome to hang out after work and when it's cooler the fire is on and can enjoy a game of Pool.
