Lovely pub and great atmosphere

Went for lunch last week with 2 friends and received a lovely warm welcome and the pub had a fantastic atmosphere. There was the option of having a set 2 course meal at a very reasonable price but the fish pie was not available so we decided against, only to then be told the chef could make it but... read more

I always call in to the Prince of Wales when I'm in the area. Whether it's for a quick pint, a snack or a full meal, I'm always assured of a warm welcome and a great experience. I wish I could find a way to dismantle it and erect it in France where I spend most of my time! The... More

Visited with my parents for lunch and we were not disappointed. Choice and quality of food was great and the portion size extremely generous. Staff were friendly and attentive. Our only regret was no room for dessert as they looked very good! Well worth the drive and highly recommended. Bonus point for a geocache just outside!

Lovely snug atmosphere with hops decorating the room and candlelight. Great food, scallops cooked delicately and the shoulder of lamb was to die for! It was also worth busting the January calorie intake for the White Chocolate profiteroles. All food was served with impressive service. Our candle was relit once it had burnt down and we were asked if the... More

Visited here on a cold and wet Saturday evening in January and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the restaurant was busy. Absolutely lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Food was outstanding, chicken pie was a great choice as was the vegetable Wellington. White chocolate profiteroles finished it off nicely. Will definitely visit again. 👍

We decided to try the POW after reading the reviews and boy were we glad we did! The pub has all the hallmarks of a country pub with a fantastic restaurant at the rear. We chose the Sunday roast and we're delighted with the portion size, service and quality of food. If your passing drop in you will not be... More

My parents live near Hoath and when we visit we also go to the Prince of Wales for either dinner on Saturday night or for Sunday lunch. There is a good selection of dishes to choose from and the food is consistently good. Environment is relaxed and service is excellent. Well worth a visit - you'll definitely want to go... More

We have eaten at The Prince of Wales four times in the last year and every time we have enjoyed a well cooked and tasty meal. In Summer we have eaten in the garden and now in Autumn/Winter, indoors - both environments are well maintained and conducive to a relaxing meal whether with friends, family or as a couple. Fabulous... More

I have been going to the Prince of Wales for years now, have introduced a lot of friends to the POW and they in turn have done the same. I am going for my Christmas dinner this weekend with a group of friends, and really looking forward to some lovely home cooked food. The staff are all very welcoming and... More
