Quite nice

A lovely verse with lovely owners managers. Enjoyed the burger and chip meal very much. Belgian waffle not as good as main course. Atmosphere, cleanliness, efficiency and welcome really conducive to a relaxing convivial time which you do not want to end.

Try the specials chalked up on the board each night - first rate food - ate there 2 nights in a row as staying locally. They have a French chef - and it shows!

Had lovely meal here one Thursday evening which was steak night. Delicious steak cooked to perfection and the sauces were superb. Service was polite and prompt. A delightful pub.

Called in on the off chance for lunch on Sunday 16th August and although they were extremely busy, they managed to find a table for us. First visit here and won't be our last, excellent standard of food, well cooked and presented. Staff were very friendly. Had to wait a while but was well worth it when the food came.

Visited The Rose for a quick meal on a lovely sunny day a couple of weeks ago. I'm not local and just picked the pub at random for a meal after an internet search. I wasn't disappointed. The staff and locals were friendly and the food was superb. Definitely on my list to return to when I'm in the area.... More

What a great little find! This great little pub is a perfect example of an English village pub! The publican was extremely friendly. Great choice of beers and ciders! Cosy decor with hops hanging from the low ceiling! We had a baguette for a light meal and it was delicious! The locals were all friendly! What a really pleasant evening!

Very limited menu for vegetarians. Landlady showed very poor customer interest after feedback on limited and uninspiring veggie menu. Selected cheese omelette, which was nicely cooked.

Quintessential old English pub. Have been going there on and off for the past 25 years. With a village green and charming church outside and a 25 minute stroll around the village to work up an appetite. The only problem this pub has is the lack of customers in the winter which is why previous tenants have had problems. With... More
