A wonderful village pub

A Tuesday lunchtime, just after the English half-term holidays, so no problems with getting a table for five. Charming welcome, really well kept beer and cider, and fine pub food, with standard dishes on the menu and interesting daily specials on the chalkboard. Generous portions, precise cooking... read more

My friend and I have eaten in the pub many times. We hadn't booked a table but they managed to fit us in with no bother. I ordered the steak and they specially made me a Diane sauce as this was not on the menu. My friend had a meal from the special board and we were both impressed with... More

Went here for a Christmas meal and was really looking forward to it. Once we arrived the staff were quick to serve and very smiley. The pub looked fantastic in the way it was decorated and the food we had was spot on. Really tasty! Only thing that let it down was a dispute at the end with the manager.... More

I must admit I am a sucker for these old traditional pub restaurants in quaint olde English villages - so although I have given it 4 stars it is mostly for the hop hanging atmosphere, setting and great serving staff. The meal was more a 3 star just because it was fairly average and nothing outstanding, adequate. Great place tho... More

Stopped off here for a quick lunchtime snack on recomendation of my landlady and I was not disappointed. The Biddens Cider is spot on, but be careful as it's quite strong. I had a simple Brie and Bacon Bagette with side salad and at £5.50 was quite good value and plenty for lunch. Good service too. The surroundings are warm... More

A number 11 bus brought us right outside this delightful pub in Wickhambreaux, opposite the village green. The pub has a quaint and pretty exterior and is warm and welcoming inside. Hops hang from the beams, and the decor is homely and rustic, with a choice of seating areas, by the sunny windows, cosy in a corner, tucked beside the... More

We booked a table her for a Sunday lunch with both sets of parents and my grandma. It fulfilled all of our expectations! The food was amazing...no - one left a scrap! The price was very reasonable, and despite being busy, the service was quick and the staff were friendly. We will be going again. (Be sure to book on... More

Try the specials chalked up on the board each night - first rate food - ate there 2 nights in a row as staying locally. They have a French chef - and it shows!

Had lovely meal here one Thursday evening which was steak night. Delicious steak cooked to perfection and the sauces were superb. Service was polite and prompt. A delightful pub.

A lovely verse with lovely owners managers. Enjoyed the burger and chip meal very much. Belgian waffle not as good as main course. Atmosphere, cleanliness, efficiency and welcome really conducive to a relaxing convivial time which you do not want to end.
