Really nice off-beaten-path trouvé

Interesting menu, always looking for something novel to try, in a small-town setting and atmosphere, in an old historic building overlooking the water - okay, theres'a parking lot in between, and who knows what's coming with the recreation area project. I've heard variable things and not every... read more

Historic building, with a view of the river from its outdoor patio. Great sense of old-style pub charm and friendly service.

On our way to Ottawa from Toronto we were looking for somewhere to stop for lunch. I recommend this restaurant. Though to vegetarian choices were very limited, the shitake on foccaccia I had was wonderful. My partner had a chicken wrap that was also very good. It took us some searching around the building to find the entrance (on the... More

Our experience has been quite good over the years. I particularly enjoy their vegetarian "sausages". Generally a very good selection of craft beer. The servers are great but the one complaint would be that the service is generally very slow. Expect a meal to be at least 2 hours and plan accordingly. It's a nice place for a leisurely meal.... Just bad. In my opinion. Service was awful waited and waited for drinks. When we finally got menus we waited forever to order and then because it took so long we couldn't have what we wanted. Not the place to take new comers to town. Not great for repeat business from tourists either.

The three course dinner deal was outstanding value and our server, Jen was disarmingly frank and helpful

I called to book lunch for 12 people and on the phone asked how long should it take for us to eat from beginning to the end. I was told by chef than it should be not more than an hour, so it was good for us. our group after this lunch had to cross to NY State, so time... More

While touring through Prescott we stopped in for drink on the nice patio, the beer selection was limited but it was cold. We ordered the chevre dip which was okay, however, the donair special and quesadilla were disappointing at best. The histroic building is impressive and the staff were pleasant but the food was lack luster.

Here again as a local I must say I agree with the spread of ratings. Good quality trends to be very average at best. What this place has going for it is location and in the summer their patio is delightful. Stick to basic food choices, drink lots and you'll have fun. It is a great place to drink and... More

We were meeting in family in Prescott and, being somewhat familiar with the area, suggested that we go to the Red George on the waterfront, a historic building and pub. We were a little early, and only a few customers were there. The décor was appropriate to the building housing the pub. We had the special, chicken stir fry, and... More
