Great pub fare

We stopped in for supper while travelling through the area. My liver and onions were cooked to perfection. My partner's meal,a chicken teriyaki stir fry, was scrumptious and a generous portion. Beer prices were very reasonable. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. A real neighbourhood... read more

I'm very surprised at the negative reviews as I have not experienced any of these complaints. My husband and I have been to the Red George several times. My husband has tried just about everything on the menu, where as I have to have the chicken pot pie! We try to pop in for lunch once in awhile because they... More

Tried the seafood crepe... almost not sure what to say. The crepe was covered in a small hill of cheese in a casserole dish (what's the point of having what is supposed to be a light, delicate crepe when its like this - the crepe was completely soaked and overwhelmed by the cheese and the sauce). The shrimp were not... More

Pretty scummy place, a lot of local drunks hang out there, not a good spot to visit if you are passing through. Food is awful in my opinion and overpriced and sleazy staff.

On Sept 12, 2015, my sister, mother and I stopped at the Red George Restaurant as recommended by a local. I ordered a Ceasar Wrap, asked the waitress if it came with fries she said no, but there was the above I can have( soup or salad or potato chips. So I went with the soup. Upon receiving my bill... Met some friends here and had the most amazing lunch. The pub has a perfect view of the St. Lawrence River. Definitely worth a trip off the 401 for a visit.

Visited on a hot day after visiting the Fort. The food and staff were great and the beer cold! TI would not hesitate to visit again if I were in the area. Price reasonable.

A good pub with great daily specials and good prices. The only reason for just very good rating is there is no fryer and therefore no fries. This is a little incongruous since most pubs serve fish and chips (which this one does not). That being said, the menu is quite extensive and the sides are either soup or salad.... More

Our group of 5 enjoyed lunch at the pub. Ordinary menu but nicely prepared and good service. Lots of outside seating for good weather and an english pub kind of interior. Although it's only a stones throw from the water it's in the lower level of an historic building and you don't have a view of the St Lawrence. Lots... More

For a small pub like setting I was presently surprised. The food and service was excellent and I can't wait to get back and try it again.
