So sad that this fabulous restaurant is now closed. We would have stayed n Maui just for this restaurant!
This restaurant was recommended by a friend. We were staying in Kaanapali and weren't sure we wanted to drive that far for dinner. I'm glad we did. The food was outstanding as was the service. While there, check out the Pacific Whale Foundation for gift and purchase ideas.
The restaurant is no longer open. It closed is the Fall of 1013. was a great restaurant in its day. Too bad really.
Enjoyed our dinner last day of our vacation. Full moon, the moonlight reflecting on the ocean and the harbor view made it so special! Excellent presentation of the food, delicious food! I saw reviews stating they had "closed".... they are open at the Maalea Harbor! We arrived earlier than our appointment, but they seated us promptly and were very accomodating... More
Four of us ordered different dishes - the Ahi tuna (two different preps), Chef's special, cioppinno. Very good dishes, great service. Liked the food so much we returned a few days later - sadly there had a handwritten 'closed' sign on the door.
I'm sorry to report the Waterfront has closed their doors for good. I will miss them, they were always a destination during my Maui vacations.
We had our usual tasty dinner on Tuesday - then opened the newspaper a few days later to find that the Waterfront had closed. Thank you, Waterfront, for some great meals over the years. The "out of the way" location was just right for meeting family when we were staying in Kaanapali and the family was in Kula.
but alas...the word came out on the coconut wireless last night that they have shuttered their doors and lovely harbour view windows at their new location...the Smith family well be missed...
The owners of the Waterfront just posted on Facebook they are closing. Very sad for those of us who were regulars at the old Waterfront for years. Unfortunately the food quality seemed to have declined since moving to their new location.
This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel. You never know what you are getting under those circumstances, but hats off to the Grand Wailea for pointing us in their direction. The place is a bit out of the way but that is one of its charms. It has a fantastic view of the Wailea Coast... More
