Blue Bar

A group of friends had dinner at the Blue Bar - Alex Hotel recently, and we found the staff very helpful and meal service was extremely quick and servings were generous. We found our meals to be your typical pub food at typical pub prices, which is ideal for holidaying families.

We happened to be searching for somewhere to eat and found the Blue Bar. Now we are all fussy eaters and we enjoy our food. Glancing over the menu there is a lot to offer and variety. The meals are big without being over the top. There wasn't anything left on our plates and there is nothing bad at all... More

Delicious food, great value. Parmy came with choice of sides and we chose the chilli cheese fries - delicious but not for those who can't handle heat! Pumpkin pizza hit the spot and a fussy 8 year old cleaned up his meal and started on his dad's! Staff lovely, smiling and welcoming. Will definitely recommend to everyone we know.

We visited this hotel during our holiday. The food was very good and the menu had lots of great options to choose from especially for picking eaters. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had especially with the soft boiled egg and anchovies. The kids menu had 2 mini burgers which meant i only needed to buy... More

We decided to try the Blue Bar for dinner as it was in walking distance from our accommodation. The place was fairly empty on a Sunday night apart from one group of revellers. There was only one guy serving behind the bar, but he was very friendly and took our meal and drink orders quickly. It didn't take long for... More

Its an old fashioned pub that has recently been renovated. Staff are friendly and plenty of seats / tables. The locals are friendly and I felt very comfortable there. It does have a really bad smell in the carpet of the TAB area after the renno work, but the locals don't seem to care so I guess management doesn't either.... More

We were keen to dine here, so close to our accommodation, but the menu was inaccurate and we had to make 3 selections before we were successful.

Great service, friendly and informative and the food was really good. The garlic bread was good and the beef pie excellent.

Ordered meal and it took 40 minutes to deliver to our table, only 2 meal orders ahead of ours. Bar staff of 2 (one of which was also doing meal orders) had 10 people waiting at bar for service. Friday evenings after 6pm are busy, hotel needs to put more staff on if they want people to keep coming back.... More

Walked out after waiting for service for over 30 mins. Booked a table for dinner at 6pm. When we arrived, there were only guests eating at 2 tables. Others were just a couple having a drink and some loud mouthed workers drinking at a bar. Once we were seated at a back table in the corner facing a TV and... More
