Gastronomic Fairy Tales – Our philosophy is to share our stories and emotions – Just like in the fairy tales you will never know what to expect. Mind-blowing experience & approach

Amazing surroundings (only the royal botanical gardens), Perfectly cooked food, Well paired with the -NON-alcoholic- drinking pairings, and cool over-all design (gotta check out their designer-restrooms)

Mielcke & Hurtigkarl is a very nice restaurant, they know what they are doing and the food here is really nice, the selection of both hot and cold beverages is very nice. I indeed recommend this restaurant, try it!

An evening here is not cheap! We went for the full 7 course taster meal, which came with 9 'snacks' and a caviar option (yes, we had that as well!). The food was indescribably good - reindeer moss with trout roe and hazelnut, cedar wood with rhubarb and woodruff amongst the extremes, the caviar, the pheasant and the crab amongst... More

Copenhagen is known for Noma, but the food scene go far beyond it. Mielcke & Hurtigkarl is a must go place. Located in a garden, the restaurant is very bucolic, the service is friendly, nice and professional. The chief sommelier knowledge is impressive. The food is fresh, seasonal and delicious. You won't be disappointed

I had to write about this restaurant because it is seriously one of the best dining experiences that I have ever had. I went with some friends and we got the full menu with wine pairing. The presentation was immaculate, and the food was impeccable. The combinations of flavors, colors, textures and combinations of different cultural dishes proved to be... More

Local restaurant critics have several times cried out in disbelief, when this restaurant did not receive a Michelin-star. The outcry is justified. Mielcke & Hurtigkarl is a gem in Copenhagen (suburb of Frederiksberg), and is among the most innovative og the Copenhagen high-class restaurants, not only in respect of food, but also service. We had the 7 course tasting menu... More

In M&H everything is elaborated to the best. The style of food is elegant and floral with hints of the asian as well as the french kitchen. But overall the style is genuine. The impression is that this is a place where great ambition, hard work, great skills and not least, great talent, meet. And with perfection on every detail... More

I wanted to expirience something new, having visited Ammass, Manfreds and Relæ last time in CPH. I have also had the pleasure of visiting Noma three times, so I have been lucky to taste some of the best Danish cuisine in the last couple of years. So my expectations were high, but were they fulfilled....? Yes...110%. From entering the beautiful... More

From the moment you walk into M & H life seams just better, this restaurant oozes class and credibility. The staff are fantastic, they actually know how to sell food! The atmosphere is relaxing and calming. We opted for the 15 course meal with wine which was expensive but what an experience. The wine waiter was knowledgeable and explained the... More

I booked this restaurant 'blind' after reading a couple of good reviews. We cycled to the restaurant and it's in a beautiful courtyard next to some royal gardens. We were looked after exquisitely and guided through each of the dishes on the extensive taster menu by a wonderful sommelier and the very knowledgeable staff. The waiters and waitresses were discreet... More

Staying in Frederiksberg

Neighborhood Profile
Frederiksberg
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.
