S'more Smorrebrod!

We visited Hansens with a large group for an early supper/late lunch, and it was marvelous. This a traditional place that serves traditional Danish food, especially smorrebrod. It was here that I was introduced to that special Danish sandwich known, for reasons wholly obscure, as "the... read more

The Danish open faced sandwiches are a work of art in themselves. The Danes believe you eat with your eyes as well as with your stomach", so everything they put on the table is beautifully decorated. We lived in Denmark many years ago, and wanted to savor their traditional sandwiches. We were not disappointed! The variety is huge, making it... More

If you enjoy a real Danish lunch and a perfect atmosphere (like the old days) don't mis this place. Yes you can get smørrebrød of higher quality ex Schønnemann, but the gardens at Frederiksberg is a must.

We were visiting family in Frederiksberg. They recommended this restaurant for traditional Danish cuisine. We had several traditional dishes which were served "family style" so we all got to taste a little bit of everything. The food was well prepared, service was good and we enjoyed the meal very much. The price was fair also.

If you are looking to experience genuine Danish "smørrebrød" (openfaced sandwiches) made in the oldfashioned way, this place delivers a lovely, tasty grandmother-version. The selection is very good and the food is fresh and made from scratch. The hot dinner dishes can not be recommended - they lack in both taste and appearance.

Went here in November for a lunch prior to a trip to the Zoo that is next door. The place felt really genuine as a "Smörrebröd" (Danish open sandwiches) place and it was easy to bring a stroller. We were also helped to heat some food we brought for the one year old. The food was good but prices a... More

We wanted to have traditional smørrebrød in a family-friendly place. This restaurant was such a disappointment! All of the food had clearly been preassembled and served to us directly from the refrigerator. Nothing had any flavor. The bread was like cardboard. The "chicken salad" was almost all mayonnaise with a few bits of chicken and was inedible. The wait staff... More

For our last night in Copenhagen we decided to go out and try this very nice restaurant. Went there with our one year old son and our waiter was amazing both with him and with the service. He was very friendly and explained to us everything. The food was excellent and the place very cosy. If we ever go back... More

Dont miss this place. I had a great time with my family and freinds. The staff were there if you needed any help. They have special rooms if you wish to smoke. Thank you Eric
