Good beer, excellent whiskey, open fire, chatty regulars and vibrant and friendly staff. A perfect way to spend a winter evening. We will definitely return.

After a pleasant day of walking from Edale, where a group of us were staying for a couple of nights, we had a vague plan of dropping down into Hope, having a few pints and then getting the train back to Edale. After a couple in the Cheshire Cheese we made our way towards the station for a quick visit... More

Second visit to this restaurant and area, and it did not disappoint. Living up to what we remember about the great ambiance, with live folk music from locals, all of whom were welcoming and friendly. Along with 5* food and excellent service. We had a thoroughly enjoyable night. Will be recommending this place to friends. 10/10 experience!!

Rick the Landlord/owner is very personable and since he has taken over, the place has gone from strength to strength. The wine list is impressive and if you are a... More

Myself and my husband decided to stay in hope for a little weekend away. We walked into this pub Really felt warm and cosy. A group of women came into the restaurant who resembled a hen party. I would just like to comment on the way the manager approached them. I can see the reviews made and the response from... More
