Nice pub

We came here for Sunday lunch before our train from Edale. Fire was hot, beer was good but food only okay - standard pub grub and nothing fancy. The local pies were the best thing the group ordered.

Good staff, nice open fires, good beer, welcome dogs and muddy boots...... But the food is absolutely disgusting!! All three meals were terrible.

Visited on a windswept Friday lunchtime in early winter. Being a weekday it was pretty quiet and there were only a few diners. Despite being wet & muddy (and dressed for hiking) the chef welcomed us in as we approached the door. Clearly the location and decor are lovely. There were a few open fires which was exactly what we... More

Good home made grub. Just what you need after a hard slog over the moors. Its just right. Well it is for me and the family!

After travelling to Edale, the first place I saw when I got out the train station was the pub.. Friendly welcome, great beer at a reasonable price and lovely views of mam tor and kinder scout from the beer garden. Would definitely pop in again.

Had supper and a few drinks watching the rugby world cup. The place was busy but still we had a great meal and service. The place is traditionally decorated with amazing views from the large sash windows. It was teaming with walkers and dog owners and had a friendly vibe. Cakes on the counter as well as a comprehensive menu... More

Stopped here for Sunday lunch after camping the previous night. When we walked in it's was fairly quiet but after ordering food it suddenly got really busy and loud. The food came (about 4mins after ordering!) but there was hardly any gravy so I went to the bar to ask for more. There was no order to which they were... More

We noticed this place on the start of our walk and returned afterwards. There was a lovely buzz of happy people of all ages enjoying food and drink. We ordered light menu and drinks which were promptly served. It was a really pleasant end of a great walk! Would highly recommend!

Great location to visit from local campsites. Good selection of food which was served quickly. Plenty draught beers (5 I think) to choose from. Nice large outdoor area. Prices reasonable.

Ate here twice during a walking holiday staying in a nearby cottage. The service is friendly and efficient although it can get a bit hectic queuing at the bar to order drinks and food sometimes, especially when a group of thirsty walkers comes in (which is quite often). That said, waiting times for food were short and the food was... More
