Good atmosphere, enjoyed food, decent portions. Plenty of space but without feeling cozy. Food served in a timely way

After a lovely long walk round the tops me and my family were dying for a warm drink. We seen that the Rambler was open with a sign that said "muddy boots welcome!" Well we were very muddy but on looking round so was everyone else. The bar was very busy but there were plenty off staff and got served... More

Visited for lunch with friends after a short walk from the railway station. We were welcomed by friendly staff and directed to a front dining room with a beautifully roaring open fire. Just the ticket on a cold December day. My friends had the home made tomato soup whilst I had the locally sourced duck liver pate. Presented well and... More

We went here on two consecutive days after long walks, and found it to be welcoming. We only wanted soup and were really pleased with a nicely flavoured carrot and coriander soup with loads of bread to mop it up. Good value.

We called in at The Rambler on the offchance and I'm so glad we did. We often walk around Edale and usually park in the main carpark. On this occasion we were just passing through so we tried to park in The Rambler itself. The carpark is very tight and there aren't many spaces so it's a bit hit and... More

Actually went here twice in one day. Had a quick lunch before a very long hike. Lunch was sandwiches - all freshly made to order, served at lightning speed. All good. My friend and I were warmly welcomed and the prices caused no surprises. There are two pubs/licensed eateries in Edale (which incidentally is just beautiful) and we tried the... More

A great walkers pub. Staff very friendly . Good selection of beers on pump. Food reasonably priced and big hearty portions.

Tried this pub on a couple of evenings. The first time one of the four meals was missing when they were delivered. The food when it arrived was ok, if a little slow- seemed understaffed for a weekend.
