Nice pub

If I'd read the reviews before we went I would have avoided it! This would have been a mistake! We ate there twice this weekend, evening meal with home made pie and chips and gravy! Fantastic service and friendly staff. We went back Saturday lunch and it was busy but again the staff were harassed... read more

My friends and I always visit The Rambler in summer as it boasts the best beer garden in the Peak District. Good selection of Peak ales and continental lagers and spirits. My friends and I also love the food. I've had the Vegetable Lasagne which is very tasty and comes with very fresh garlic bread on the side. My friends... More

This pub is a little gem. We were walking in the rain with our 2 dogs when we saw the huge sign outside saying muddy boots and dogs were welcome (great!) The pub was welcoming, clean and quiet which was perfect for our nervous dog. We ordered steak and ale pie which was really delicious, came out fairly quickly and... More

We were very disappointed both times that we went to this pub over the weekend when we were camping in the adjacent campsite. They were very unfriendly on both occasions. Normally the pub stops serving food at 9.30 however when we arrived at 9.10 and asked if we could order food, we were met with a very unfriendly response and... More

I stopped here after a long run out for a much needed pint and sandwich. The pint of Farmers Blonde went down a treat. My roast beef bap was fine but came with chips and gravy even though I had specifically said I didn't want them. Gave them to some mountain bikers! Great location right by the station. Ideal for... My husband took me for a nice country pub meal . he had the curry and I had steak and ale pie. I was expecting to wait some time as usually do for fresh food. It came really quick and I was shocked to see a pie that wasn't fresh just a freezer pie with gravy made from granules poured... More

Good value for money, quick service, nice staff and pleasant setting. A good base for hard and soft walking. Country setting.

The staff were friendly, that's were the good experience ended.. The food was bland, chips tasted of cheap cooking oil I have nothing left to say really, apart from the two pub meal with a couple of soft drinks came to around £27, after having the meal I would not have paid a fiver each.... Will def not go back

Popped in while waiting for the train after a day of walking and ordered a beef Sunday roast. The meat had not been roasted long enough and was rather chewy, and there was nowhere near enough gravy on the plate — in fact, barely any, leaving the generous helpings of potatoes (roast and mash) quite dry, and the Yorkshire pudding... A little expensive for a pint but the food was good and service exceptional. Probably the best of the two pubs in Edale now.
