If you end up in Edale and want some grub and a few pints you'll come down to two choices. This, in my experience, is the better one. All around a great experience. Food was plentiful and tasty at a fair price. Staff were friendly and helpful and the view from our table in the front window was stunning. I... More

As a local resident I've just been here for tea....it was terrible!! Fish pie that was inedible and 'fresh' veg, well it must have been at some point before it was blasted to death in the microwave. There are so many lovely places to eat in the Hope Valley area but sadly this is not one of them.

Went for lunch after tiring walk. Reasonable cider. Sausages with cheesy mash. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Mash cheesy to point of stinginess exacerbated by gravy too salty. Sausages passable. My experience of all the pubs and cafés around there is a good customer base of walkers taken for granted with little competition... More

This place is in a great location and has an almost captive audience. It's a pity that it's food and beer is served with a style and grace you'd receive from your average motorway service station. Over priced beer and rather bland food. I would have normally submitted a photo but it would have been too dull. Maybe it's bored... More

This pub offers good basic pub food at a reasonable price with excellent service and very friendly bar staff. Visited 3 or 4 times in my stay at Edale and never had anything to complain about. If you want fine dining then look else where, but if you want a good wholesome food then this is the place to go... More

Beers fine, Sandwiches OK, are great, Cashback facility fine, if they actually give you the money! My mistake for not checking as i was distracted. It was busy when we visted so it must have something going for it

Went here last night whilst camping with the kids. Thought the food was just average really. Seemed like a lot of bought in micro / ready made grub to be honest. Quite expensive but there is no choice in this tiny remote village. Good selection of beers and nice service. But wouldn't rush back

Went to the Ramblers for tea with friends and toddlers whilst camping nearby. The staff were friendly and the beer was good but the food was barely average and over-priced for what it was. Ordered a local butchers' steak and ale pie with chips and mushy peas for myself. Literally in the time it took us to sit down and... More

We arrived at the pub at the end of a very long wet and cold hill walk. Pub was busy but they soon found room for us with a warm welcome. Food arrived within 15 minutes and was very tasty and well priced.the beer was good too. A good service and 5 happy walkers who will come back for more.
