Lovely bar, well refurbed. Is spacious so good for buggies and wheelchairs. Has clean toilets but the door locks all seem army fitted so a few of them don't close. It has good baby changing facilities. Has a small, indoor play area for children and an outside, gated climbing areas of is good for children. Children's menu is a bit... More

Sunday dinner was required after a long 4 hour nonstop drive from Norwich to Nottingham. Someone suggested the refurbished Gamston Lock pub may be open - it was! Places available inside and out, but we decided on an outside in the sun table. Very comfy, very smart beer garden. Easy ordering and the usual Marstons menu with plenty choice of... More

This Marstons pub, risen Phoenix like from the ashes of the burnt down Bridge at Gamston, is divided into various areas but there's no escape from the muzak which apparently couldn't be turned down. A lunchtime visit required overcoats kept buttoned, but service and food was pleasant. The only Gluten and Dairy free option was the Gammon which I had... More

We use this place regularly as a post-gym refuel venue. Friendly service but, as sadly typical with this sort of venue, understaffed. Bright and clean place. Food's fine but trying to eat a whole chicken from an undersized rectangular plate is a proper trial. Try not letting the accountant set the staffing levels.

Food was good as was the service but maybe a little pricey for pub food. Been to various other restaurants / pubs in the chain where the food is of the same quality but less expensive. However will visit. again as it's local

Went for a family Sunday lunch, service terrible. Waited 45 minutes for a table then 35 minutes for the food which was like warm and small portions, told the assistant manager( I think he was anyway) he looked miserable and gave the impression he didn't want to be there ! No apology for the service or the food. Will never... More

Really enjoyed my meal here today. Great food and friendly staff. My toddler loved the play area. The changing facilities were clean and private. The only downside was the outdoor park was closed which caused a tantrum from my 2 year old.

This was a lunchtime visit. Nice looking place with a handy outdoor play area for the kids. Pleasant welcome and it was getting busy, but service was excellent. Drinks order taken quickly and the food arrived quite promptly too. It was hot, tasty and portion sizes were good.
