Mixed Feelings!

This is the second Michelin Star quality restaurant I have been to. The other was The Box Tree in Ilkley. I liked it here and had a good time but there were quite a few dishes on the menu I just would not eat. I would not pay that price for offal and I dont like food which still contains... read more

Watching "A Taste of the Yorkshire Dales" on More 4 - 16th May 2015, its a reminder that when both my wife & I visited a few years ago for lunch as some of the reviews mention we were unhappy at the fact that while we were having a drink in the bar and perusing the menu the staff were... More

My wife and I stayed over for a weekend recently and this was our second visit. The accommodation was good and the cuisine excellent. We dined in the restaurant both evenings and couldn't fault the service or the food. Presentation, taste, ingredients all amazing and thoroughly deserving of their status. The menu is also seasonal hence we visited in spring... More

Just back from a delightful stay at this truly amazing Hotel. The staff were excellent, the food amazing and the Hotel itself was wonderful. We spoke about our stay all the way back on our short trip back to Leeds. Will definitely return.

Full taster and full wine flight experience - not quite there for the money. Having visited numerous Michelin restaurants with tasters in mind this one fell short sadly. The wine however was excellent, the service very good, it just seemed the price wasn't quite justified with the food and at this level everything has to be spot on sadly. We... More

After having a splendid lunch a few years ago, it is remiss that we have not been back for dinner....until last friday.... I would unashamedly acknowledge that Francis is one of the best chefs in the world. It seems unbelievable that she has only 1 Michelin Star. In London she would surely have 3? The Yorke Arms is not cheap,... More

We took the Sunday Lunch today and can only describe as one of the best ever. Each course was full of flavours that we quite new to us all but so exciting Frances Atkins Kitchen turned out such high quality food with service that went along with it. Such a beautiful day in North Yorkshire as well.

Myself and partner opted for the 8 course tasting menus priced at £85 per person. The evening was nice, cosy and pretty romantic I guess. The building is rather old and has a lot of character. Set in the gorgeous village of Ramsgil. The food was nice, although not particularly tasty - many of the course rather bland in taste.... More

We stayed here on a DBB midweek deal. This included afternoon tea with Champagne after arrival, evening dinner and breakfast. The afternoon tea was delicious, chocolate cake, fruit cake, mini scone with cream and jam, tea and biscuits plus a large glass of pol roger ( I think). Barely had chance to digest that before it was dinner time. More... More
