Bought tickets for my parents and children for the "festival" held at Hawarden Estate; the children soon lost interest in the Anti Fracking tent and I called for a refund the morning of the fun fair- oh I didn't mention that was the main attraction until the afternoon. I spoke to Alan Downing who told be he wasn't dealing with... More

I work round the corner and like a lot of my colleagues I sometimes go to the farm shop to pick up some lunch. The standard of the food has always been exceptional in my experience. I do however, get frustrated with the attitude. You used to be able to have a custom sandwich made to order, that has now... More

The farm shop café has always been fairly expensive but the new menu is way over the top price-wise. We both had a small burger with about six salad leaves (no dressing) on a board, one tea and two coffees. Cost £24 for nothing out of the ordinary. Won't be going there again to eat. Think the menu is becoming... More

Met a friend here for cake and coffee one Friday morning. The young girl at the till said to sit down and she'd then take our order. I had latte with a fruit scone with yummy jam and clotted cream (£4.80) and she had tea with toast and marmalade. Sat outside as it was a gorgeous day but became too... More

We have been visiting this farm shop since it was little more then a shack with limited produce. We have enjoyed coffee, and lunch with no problems. We have regularly bought fillet steak, sausages, cakes, bread, cheese, veg and milk here. We also regularly buy marinated chicken breasts. We have always believed these to be free range, bred on their... More

As a regular weekend customer, last weekend was the first with the new menu and if it stays will be our last!i ordered a child's lunch box asked if I could have a banana in to which the reply was sorry they are not ripe enough! Then we decided after nothing really appealing for a lunchtime menu we would have sandwiches... More

I went today for lunch with a friend. She wanted a ham sandwich, but there was only ham with cheese and egg on the menu. We asked the waitress for just a ham salad sandwich but she explained that they couldn't do this as the sandwiches were already made up in the back. We decided on plan b, a steak... More

Had the Hawarden breakfast yesterday. Two sausage, bacon, fried egg, tomato, toast, black pudding, and brown sauce! Price with pot of tea is about £10. The farm shop is quite expensive and very busy, staff very friendly, and service speedy. You have to order before 12 noon for breakfast. We will definitely be going back again and again.
