Four of us stopped here almost by accident on a May afternoon as we were driving back roads from Rome to Orvieto. I'd just purchased the Gambero Rosso Osteria d'Italia 2013 guide (in Italian, but manageable with a good food dictionary) in hopes of finding better meals than on our last trip (thumbs up for this guide!), and as I... A friend/colleague brought me to this restaurant for a business lunch, he told me that they made the best "fritto misto" he had ever tasted, i was skeptical but he was actually right: they make an incredible dish and anyone that goes there should try it because that alone is well worth the trip. We travelled extensively in the area including Rome itself, and can safely say that the best food we ate was in this delightful little restaurant in the town centre. (don’t be put off by the external appearance-the quaint exterior belies this homely friendly inn.) The owners (husband and wife) were... More

A small establishment right on the main street of this medieval village, situated a few miles north of Rome, "Iotto" focuses mainly on traditional recipes, making extensive use of local produce. We visited on a friday night, and were seated outdoors, right on the street pavement where a handful of tables is clustered under some huge umbrellas. It was nice... More
