Brilliant rabbit stew and vegetarian nut loaf and very friendly service. The Pub was a very good surprise and very nice way of finishing off the beautiful walking throughout the Manifold Valley. Would definitely go back.

24 of us filled the pub for my brother's 60th birthday celebration. Staff went to a lot of trouble to ensure it was a special evening, lighting candles, decorations etc. Thank you.

Staff are really friendly and informative. Stopped here to have lunch after a walk in Wetton. We all had a beef roast dinner, it was lovely but the gravy was a little salty. Definitely worth a visit though and the owner was friendly and helpful. The waitress was also very nice. Thanks for a lovely lunch!

The landlord Ian reserved the attractive Events/ Sun Lounge exclusively for our group of 20+ for their meals, drinks & our own quiz. He said the dogs that had accompanied their owners on the walk would be no problem. The interesting ceramics & paintings on display caught the eye of one or two younger members of the group in particular.... More

We were walking via Wetton and called in first for coffee then returned later for lunch after walking in the Manifold Valley. Lovely warm fire, helpful and friendly staff, well-kept ales. Dogs positively welcomed. The ham egg and chips is one of the best I've ever tasted. If you're looking for a traditional English pub, go the Royal Oak at... More
