After wondering about in the town of San Daniele del Friuli for a while waiting for the restaurants to open up for dinner, we asked around among the locals for recommendation. Ai Bintars was one of them, a little outside of the old town but open all day. Without knowing the local drills, when we arrived at Ai Bintars we... More

Il prosciutto di San Daniele has to be eaten in San Daniele del Friuli. In this restaurant I adore the ham, and the cheese "caprino", the name recalls the goat, but it's actually from cow's milk. I don't miss a chance to come dining here. Location is nice, service is quick and very kind, suggest to call to book a... More

When you are travelling north of Italy you can not go past going to San Daniele to try their local Prosciutto. Without a doubt the best prosciutto makers in the world you have a vast variety of places to try the local cuisine. Ai Bintars would have to be the best in the area, have been in the area several... this place is an excellent one to taste the famous prosciutto di san daniele and some typical cakes (try the gubana with some grappa) service is quite icy, but I have to admit we arrived late for lunch. it is open all day, that s why we went there at 3:30pm for lunch and they had no problem! they srve... By far the best ham in town and therefore in the world! Cut at perfection! Only a perfect cut can give the additional taste when it melts in your mouth! No joke! In this small place in Friuli, you can have just San Daniele ham together with: fresh goat cheese dipped in olive oil, artichokes and mushrooms in olive oil,... More

Our tennis coach advised us to visit this restaurant when he heard that we were going to visit San Daniele to try the ham. We ate on the porch/veranda (open air but covered seating area). The menu was orally presented (a voce). There is really only one thing to order and that is the ham, which is delicious of course.... More

It's a rustic family owned place excellent to taste San Daniele ham. It's clean and easy to find (in front of the hospital), service is fast. The ham is delicious, served with gout cheese and vegetables. Be ready to high prices compared to the portions.

If you are lucky enough to find yourself in San Daniele dei Friuli, be sure to catch lunch at Ai Bintars. This is THE place to be at midday. Find a seat, or if they are all taken, stand at the bar and don't expect a menu. They only serve the star of the region, Prosciutto di San Daniele, accompanied... More
