Masterfully crafted menu

We wanted a traditional, grandmother style cooking. We were not dissapointed. Each course in the menu is ideally suited to one dish before and after. Stinco di vitello and deep fried asparagus were the highlights. Dessert was artfully presented but it fell short of the main dishes. We... read more

We are not much of winedrinkers so we dismissed the sour guy who... More

Our dinner at la subida was awesome. Try all the locals deli- prossuto, cheese and everything else. Stuff were kind and service was really fast. Desert was like in a dream. But dont forget to book a table before - it's one of the favorite place of locals

Great, tasty food, far away from „typical“ Michelin star restaurants, most dishes are like from „Mom's kitchen“, but superbly prepared in all details. Service great too, extremly warm and friendly. impression is that all people are part of owner's family with one exemption: the Sommelier! The gentleman is unfriendly and gruff, his wine suggestion per glass knowing that customer will... More

My wife and I spent a night at La Subida, an hour's drive from Trieste, in beautiful Friuli. You can't call it a hotel - it's a collection of beautifully decorated houses on a hill. Simple country style, modern accommodations w small kitchens and lovely fixtures. Unfortunately, the pool was out of service but is a nice feature. The main... More

This is a warm, attractive, creative place for excellent food and a myriad of good local wines. Each dish was a special creation, many were very notable, such as the wild asparagus and scrambled eggs, deep-fried white asparagus, and small ravioli filled with nettles. The sommelier chose the wines for each, although I would have preferred to have more choice... More

We chose à la carte menu items. Highly recommend the stinco di vitello. The sommelier was a little bit pretentious, but, except for this, friendly staff.

The food was just fantastic. I loved everything. The weithers were friendly. I was only said that the menue is only in Italian, as the resturant was full,of people from Slovenia and Croatia. The lady of the house was friendly and translated everything to us, so it tursned out ok. BUt still. We were only a littel disappointed over the... More

Whether choosing from their tasting menu or al a carte you are sure to be pampered here. If the Italian menu presents difficulty no worries as the staff is there to assist and explain each wonderful option..not to mention choosing in appropriate wines to accompany each course. Very knowledgable and dedicated . I fabulous experience each visit highly recommended

I have been to this place with three other close friends who work in the food industry. Everything, from the people who bring traditions on the plate to the people who truly create each dish, is carefully taken care of, with the classic "food-breaks" crafted to move from one course to another. That make a good experience delightful. Very well supplied... More

Our dinner at La Subida was one of the most memorable of our recent trip to Friuli. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for a treat. Our meals were unique and memorable. The service was warm but sophisticated. The atmosphere and the decor emphasized the arts and crafts of the local region. The kitchen regularly... More
