Went with my in-laws. Lovely food with a great taste. Chicken korai was hot but they did say it was medium hot so no complaints. Excellent attentive service couldn't do more to help. Very friendly. Great value for money and a nice surprise at the end.

Have not been for some time, but last visit was as good as first one. Great food, good service and a very nice clean place

The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming on my recent visit with friends. The speed of service was ok, if a little slow, but the food was very average. We ordered a range from the menu and although not disappointing, it was nothing to write home about. The portion sizes were ok, however I would have liked a little more.... More

Went out as a group of 4 and had the best experience of any Indian I've visited (and I've been to many), not sure if this place is now under new management as it's called spice garden not spice cottage. The place is very nice and clean inside, decorated smartly. Service was excellent all night, food was really nice, big... More

We ate here on Mother's day as group of four adults, a return visit for some of us since the restaurant changed hands. The menu is very extensive with some unusual dishes of Bangladeshi origin - do ask for advice from the charming staff as some dishes are on the sweet side. Prices are good and the Sunday or Wednesday... More

The food is always consistently good, large portions and very filling. The ambience is your average Indian restaurant and the menu again is the standard UK fare. I started with Prawn Purée which was full of flavour, plenty of prawns and the sauce was spicy and rich. Main was chicken dhansak with a rice and garlic nan, again full of... More

I used to go to this place in the past but after a couple of bad experiences I would never go back. Staff not that friendly , ambience not very nice and food average. Once tried their Sunday buffet but never again, the food was cold and well below standard. I complained to the manager but I still paid the... More

Good menu, polite staff. They will amend the standard menu if required, to one's personal taste. Fresh ingredients. Brilliant!

I eat a fair amount at and from Indian restaurants. The Spice Cottage is an average contender. Most of the time I find their food bland and tasteless. The service is not good. The only reason we still get a curry from here is because the wife signed up to a deal and we're not going to waste money on... More

If you want a good quality reasonable Indian meal then The Spice Cottage is a great choice. The staff are always friendly and will make recommendations. It is clear that they have a lot of regulars and take aways are popular. However, if you are eating in there is a nice atmosphere and unlike a lot of Indians the toilets... More
