Four of us dined here on a wet Friday lunchtime. Menu is basic, I would say a little stuck in the '80s (chilli, lasagne, ham egg and chips), but they also have wraps. Everything was well cooked and tasty and very reasonably priced. Staff are friendly. A good place to come to for a filling lunch after walking in this... More

Found this on trip advisor as needed somewhere close to princes risborough to eat a good meal. Deserves it's high rating. Very welcoming country pub. Food excellent. On first look menu seems limited but it really isn't. Apparently the roast dinner option on a Sunday is popular and we will definitely be visiting again to try that. The outside seating... More

Just revisited the Red Lion, and could not have experienced a better rib eye steak, the pub now offers two rib eye steak meals and a bottle of house wine for £30 on Tuesdays. My steak was cooked exactly how i like it, the bar staff were both attentive and polite, as always, another recommendation on Fridays is the excellent... More

We visited on a weekday evening and enjoyed a very good meal , attractively presented and piping hot. The pub is always warm and pleasant with a log fire burning in the Winter. Everyone is friendly here, staff and customers, and people come back time after time. It should be rated No 1 on the Risborough restaurants list.

Just had a family lunch at the Red Lion and left very satisfied. The menu is classic pub food, sensible, not fancy. Helpful and quick service. Beer in very good condition. Log fire in the grate with a young Labrador curled up under the adjacent table. The food came fast and apart from the rather unnecessary (free) addition of salad... More

We really enjoyed our lunch in this delightful old pub which ,thank goodness is unrestored , unselfconscious, and unpretentious - but very homely and welcoming . The rib eye steak was superb and served with lots of tasty trimmings and the home cooked ham egg and chips was a vast portion and equally good .Good value . Good beer .... More

No frills, just a good old style country pub serving good food and beer. Unpretentious and all the better for it .

A 17th century classic country pub tucked away in the tranquil setting of Whiteleaf. We visited the Red Lion in early summer and sat outside where we were served excellent fresh baked baguettes, homemade chilli, and the best fish and chips I have tasted for a long time. The staff were polite and attentive. We recently returned to the Red... More

17th Century Inn, furnished circa 1970. No wardrobe in bedroom just mismatched furniture crammed in. Room was disgusting. Breakfast and it's position in countryside it's only redeeming features.

Stopped over for lunch after exploring the Chiltern escarpment above Princes Risborough. The food was good and prices were decent. The staff were also fast and nice, making sure we were comfortable and that we were happy with everything.
