Having trawled through a number of local pub reviews, we decided to give the Red Lion a try for Sunday Lunch. We were very pleasently surprised. We were warmly received by the landlady, who showed us to our table. There was a wonderfully friendly ambiance and it was evident that this was one of those excellent local English Pubs that... The Red Lion Whiteleaf is a very friendly traditional pub, roaring log fire included. Very nice ales on tap and a warm welcome. The food was freshly prepared, tasty and great value.

Best kept secrets are best kept quiet but this hard-to-find, family run, country pub is definitely worth a visit. Sat nav is essential if you are looking for the Red Lion, Whiteleaf after dark, as we were. It’s tucked down a country lane off the A4010 Aylesbury Road out of Princes Risborough, which is actually the Icknield Way, an ancient... More

I met a work colleague of mine for lunch here after walking my dogs on nearby Whiteleaf Cross. Despite the fact that my dogs sprawled over the floor, forcing other customers to walk over/round them, we received a great welcome, a nice pint, and a tasty grilled sandwich.

The service was good for a Sunday lunch and you felt they did really care. Meat was perfect and the fish tasted fresh. The food was not expensive and was very good value. Only negatives were small plates and roast potatoes were cold.

Booked a table on Saturday evening based on previous Tripadvisor reviews. Took parents and partner. Had enormous difficulty finding the place in the dark and were horrified that we were the ONLY customers there when we did eventually find it. Usually such highly-rated pubs are packed, so we wondered what could have gone wrong and whether we were in for... More

Great country pub, we felt comfortable as soon as we entered the bar. Good choice of beer, good pub food, served by nice people in a bar with a roaring fire. What more could we ask.

If you are looking for a traditional country pub this is it. It is on a small road outside a village or town which makes it more charming. The beer and real ales are good as is the food menu. The stall and proprietors are very friendly as are the customers which are mainly locals.

A tasty Sunday roast and decent portions. The staff were a bit pressed but accommodating. Make sure you book - very popular.

Enjoyable meal in a comfortable environment. Home cooked food, with a range of specials including steak, lamb, fish dishes- and 'Day deals' such as steak night and fish and chip night. Good home made burger, ok cod with vegetables. Pleasant if slightly disorganised service. Good solid pub, if a little bit old fashioned.
