We have been four times in this Restaurant. Two times many years ago, when Santi Santamaria, the Chef, was still in the kitchen. And the other two, the last days of August, when the sad new of the Restaurant Closure was already known. For the last time, we decided to go with our children: they also were worthy to enjoy... This is a long outstanding review of what must have been one of the most sophisticated restaurants in Spain, but after I read about their eminent closure after 32 years, I could not wait any longer. Can Fabes, which is located in Sant Celoni in the Montseny hills north of Barcelona, was opened by Santi Santamaria as a modest establishment... More

Without a doubt one of the best meals I've eaten with a level of service that was beyond compare. I'm fortunate enough that I'm no stranger to fine dining, having dined in several Michelin starred restaurants in London and around the UK - mostly as a result of working for a boss who took a generous view towards taking the... We turned up on our bicycles and the head waiter was kind enough to take us to a quiet area so we could change into a more suitable attire for a two Michelin restaurant. We were concerned at first about the quantity of food as we were burning 4000 calories a day but we needn't be as the portions were... More

We were a little unsure to this little adverture to Sant Celoni - especially when we arrived early to the restaurant and it was locked. We were told by the doorman that "it was 828pm and hence not open yet. The kitchen opens at 830 and so was our booking- so were were a little bit put off by the... More

Elements 4_12 is the casual restaurant of Can Fabes. Very good value for its price. You eat "in" the kitchen sharing a big table (only 16 seats). Food is excellent but not as sophisticated as in Can Fabes.

Can Fabes is part of the Relais and Chateaux collection meaning they provide meals and stay. The hotel rooms are beautiful, and the food is amazing!!! Truly a 3 stars Michellin rated restaurant. The people are are friendly and helpful. They even serve their own wine but you can only purchase it at the restaurant. Amazing place!!

Can Fabes was so warm and inviting during our visit. The food was very solid and thoughtful, as well as reasonably priced (for a high-end meal). We have never seen such an abundant bread cart. It was a treasured experience (though we almost did not get back to Barcelona due to car trouble). I hope that with Santi's passing, talented... More

I heard a lot of bad review after Santi's death. We tried lunch here instead of dinner. I would say the meal is good but not excellent. The sweet bread is cooked to perfection (given it is a dish that is really hard to cook right). However, the local peas with cod is a bit fishy and disappointing. The spring... More

Still rates as the best meal I have ever had the pleasure of waiting. 5 Hours of the most luxurious ingredients matched with good but not overly expensive wines
