Enjoyable lunch

My wife and I enjoyed the Ampelaki lunch experience, and I don't know how they do it for the price. We had mousakka and calamari for mains followed by baklava and Ampelaki's "secret dessert" (yes I asked the obvious question and received the obvious reply). Both the red and white wines at 2 euros... read more

Every year we visit Kefalonia and every year we visit Ampelaki since our first visit with the kids and we are never disappointed - Nikos is always so welcoming and remembers us (and more importantly our kids) every time. The food is lovely and we always enjoy our evenings - given our children are still so young, it's a treat... More

After waiting half an hour (without an offer of drinks or even some bread put on the table, which is usually the first thing to appear in a Greek Restaurant) my husband stopped a waiter and asked if he would take our order. The waiter replied "I'll be with you in less than a minute". 10 minutes later he returned... More

I had read very good reviews for ampelaki tavern but our visit in august 2015 was disappointing. Nothing special, otherwise the main disses was average. After all we found not one but three hairs on two dishes. It was disgusting. At last, is an overprice tavern with high prices. We don't come back

This restaurant looked nice but unfortunately on the night we went the service was disappointing. There were a couple of groups in but it wasn't packed however, without wishing to sound like the paranoid British we really felt like we weren't particularly welcome. It appeared to be a restaurant which locals go too so maybe they weren't looking to be... More

My friend and I decided to visit this restaurant for our last meal in Kefallonia before flying home. We'd been here a year ago, on the recommendation of friends, and had an excellent meal. This time too we were not disappointed. We ate early, as we had to be up at 0500 the next morning for our flight to Athens.... More

Lovely little bistro cafe on the seafront in Argostoli, with a modern menu when compared to the many restaurants that serve the same 10 dishes night in night out. We visited on a sunny afternoon and sat on the front terrace, it took us a long time to decide what we wanted as so many of the dishes sound lovely.... More
