In 1984, Rosa Mexicano set a new standard for Mexican cuisine when it first opened on the upper east side of New York City. Playing a leading role in defining what was then a "new" cuisine to American diners, Rosa Mexicano delivers authentic Mexican cooking in an accessible, stylishly festive atmosphere. Rosa Mexicano's menu features a range of award-winning signature dishes, including our Guacamole en Molcajete, in a traditional lava rock mortar. Described by Time Out New York as "green ecstasy in a stone bowl," it is prepared table side and served with house made chips, warm corn tortillas and condiment salsas. Rosa Mexicano is also known for the Frozen Pomegranate Margarita, as well as the stylish and festive ambiance that includes an illuminated water wall.

Best Mexican steak ever!

Easy walk from the conference center. My husband had 3 enchiladas and I had the steak. Rice and beans were served family style. The chips were warm and crispy, served with most excellent salsa, and the basket never ran out. The margaritas were delicious. With drinks, dinner was $75 -- well worth... read more

We chose Rosa Mexicano because of its proximity to the harbour and we were not disappointed! I love the guacamole made and served in front of you! The soft shell taco was amazing! Service was fantastic! My new favourite comida typica el Mexico!

The Best Guacomole and chips I ever had. visited 2 times. once for dinner and other for happy hour 4Pm to 7pm. my only complaint is the Margarita are to light. for a $12 or $14 I expect a stronger drink. my wife love them as she likes them light.

Popular spot, waited an hour for a table, killed time with a family ride on the nearby ferris wheel. Table side guacamole was good. Overall food was very good, just very pricey.

I have visited the Rosa Mexicano on previous visits and took a group on this trip. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the guacamole that they make at your table. We ordered two and several folks in the group said they didn't really like guac. The portions were huge, they put down baskets of chips and before I knew... More

Ate here with some colleagues on a whim, and wasn't disappointed. Ended up eating Tampiquena de Carne Asada. It was one of the best Mexican meals that I have had in a long time. Metadel was a very attentive server, and was a compliment to a wonderful dinner in DC.

Beautiful location, amazing food, fresh drinks, and great service! I loved this meal! Everything was fresh, and beautifully plated. The location and view is amazing, so romantic, a perfect place to eat while enjoying the beautiful National Harbor. It was a little pricey, but for the quality of food, location, and atmosphere it is well worth the price.

The guacamole was extraordinary, it is made at the table and according to your taste for spiciness. It was So fresh and perfectly seasoned. The dining experience just got better and better. The Short ribs enchilada's were very high cuisine. The Mole made me feel I was actually south of the border. Each table is given black beans and rice... More
