Darn good beer bar

First time here. Nice staff for sure (Dustin was super friendly). Cute place, nice bar with juke box. Could use some more craft beer selections but overall a place I'd return to. Didn't eat, but the menu looked nice, place was clean.

We lucked out and found this spot on a Tuesday night. They have a great special which includes soup, salad, entrée and desert for $10. It has the feel of a home made meal. The good was good and we enjoyed it.

Our go-to place when we visit Smithville. Never a problem, never a disappointment. Handicap (and stroller) access is around the side.

This Father's Day 4 of us decided to try this place based on my tripadviser app being new to the area visiting friends who just moved there. First we called them using the app and they said they would seat us without a long wait. We arrived 10 minutes after calling and one of the best I ever had. We... More

Located in the Historic Town of Smithville. Nice place. Had a seat by the windows so we could people watch and had a nice view of the shopping area. Had the shrimp salad which was good (don't know why everyone leaves the tails on!!). I ate everybite. The wings were OK too. Typical tavern. Service was pretty good also.

This is our second visit to this tavern located in historic Smithville. On a recent visit, we were in search of a casual meal after having eaten boardwalk fare all day. The menu at Fred and Etheyl's Lantern Light offered a variety of salads, sandwiches, and burgers (as well as more substantial entrees) and a full drink menu. The peach... More

My husband and I ate dinner here one night while staying at the Colonial Inn for a couple of days. Loved the quaint tavern atmosphere. The food was awesome and the portion sizes average to above average. We both ordered one of their signature dishes..."Meatloaf Mountain" for myself and "The Governor" for my husband. I struggled to finish mine but... More

There's a lot of variety on the menu. If you're hungry, you've made a great choice. Burgers, wraps & salads were all really good.

Fred and Ethel's is one of my favorite dining spots. My husband agree. We love the cozy atmosphere, varied menu, and friendly attentive service. Steaks, soups, salads, seafood are all good. The meatloaf is a signature dish. The "original" Fred and Ethel would be proud of this restaurant!

employees treat everyone special, they truly appreciate you being there! food is excellent as well! Sometimes you need to wait a little to get in, but I've found that to be the sign of an excellent place to visit. Been there many times and will be back many times in the future!
